Good morning everyone, how are you all doing today?
Lovely bright ,sunny start to our day here.Looks to be a fairly good day ahead.

I moved most of the seedlings out into the greenhouse yesterday so I had a restless night worrying about them . I will wait until the sun hits the greenhouse before I open it up to check. Now realise I might have to move them back for a few upcoming nights as our temps drop .
      Nail biting times!!!

      Have a good day.

I hope your seedling are all right @Upsydaisy It's blowing a gale here and I've decided not to do anything outside in case I suddenly find myself flying over the rooftops like Mary Poppins :yikes: Some of the pots on my patio have been blown over already :frown:
It's nice and sunny though haha ...

Good afternoon Michael, how are you today?

Yes same here it's blowing a right old hoolie out there , but fortunately it's quite sunny.

I've checked the greenhouse and de-fleeced everything and all looks good...phew :dbgrtmb:. Mind you the temps last night weren't too bad , we have a -2 coming up! :fingers crossed:

            Good day
Yes, @Upsydaisy those first few nights are nerve wracking since it took so much time to get the seedlings going in the first place!

@Michael Hewett I have already filled and planted most of my big pots but I have decided that the last three (or is it 4?) which are still empty, will have the bottom 2/3 filled with ordinary garden soil and then topped with potting soil. My thinking is that this will add weight to the base and help keep them from toppling in a breeze. :fingers crossed:

The guessers are still telling us that below freezing will be the overnight lows up to and including Sunday night into Monday morning. So I'm waiting until Monday to move my green toddlers out there and even then, the heater will be on, just above basic pilot light level.

It is sunny at the moment and 41f 4C? The guessers have promised rain for later so I have to get out there and get some of the wiring connected and sealed before the water starts.

            Cheers all :coffee:

              Hi Lori and Good Morning.:)

Yes I'm desperately hoping that after Saturday night our night time temps will be more settled and the young plants will be better able to tolerate them. :fingers crossed:

Good idea about adding garden soil it certainly adds weight, when I use bigger pots I also place some heavy broken bricks in the base too ,helps with drainage as well as weight.

              Have a lovely day.

That's a good idea @CanadianLori garden soil is heavier than compost.

I'm fine @Upsydaisy, hope you are too x

Good morning everyone, hope you're all well and looking forward to the weekend.

I did some laundry late last night in readiness to hang out first this morning so obviously it's a grey start with rain on the cards!!

Eldest son and his girlfriend are coming down later for the weekend.:yahoo::hapydancsmil: Very much looking to seeing them both.

Hubs is out early this morning so while the cats are away ( so the saying goes;)) the mice will play...or on this occasion do a mini spring clean!!! Well we are having visitors  :dbgrtmb:.
He will pick me up later and we will do a grocery shop....not so keen on that bit!!

Have a lovely day and keep safe.

Sweet memories are flooding my head...just had a reminder pop up, it was 2 years ago today that my Dad and I spent our last day together as normal before he became ill....2 years!! Not a day passes without me thinking of them both.

Good morning @Upsydaisy, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful day with son and girlfriend  it's nice to catch up with family and friends ...
Hope your seedlings didn't suffer in the cold night.

It's a beautiful spring morning here, clear blue sky and no frost that I can see:SUNsmile:
I've made an appointment to take stuff to the recycling tip this afternoon (you still have to make appointments to go there) I have to get rid of some old electrical things like vacuum cleaners and CD players etc that I thought I might get mended but never have ... so I'm getting rid of them.
I may go for a little drive around afterwards to see what wild flowers I can find :spinning:

Have a nice day everyone :dbgrtmb:

                          That drive sounds perfect Michael.:)
Yes we still have to pre-book here too to use the tip.

Son is cooking breakfast..and it smells yummy!

I'll wait a bit before plucking up the courage to look in the greenhouse . They are in the bubble wrap enclosure and tripled fleeced ...I have one last layer on standby and will probably use that tonight, then fingers crossed we will be over the worse....Things can only get better!

Have a really super day and take some pics!! xx
