Air Layering

    I had a go at air layering last year and have ended up with a not too bad acer. I'm a bit eager to have another go with something else.

      I've had mixed results with those balls.
      Managed to get a couple of pomegranate plants with them but on stuff that takes a bit longer to root I've found it not easy to keep the compost damp.

      Slugs like to hide in them as well.:biggrin:

        I filled mine with sphagnum moss and cling filmed them leaving an open top to water but it's given me lots of confidence to know it can be done but I think next time I'll just go with sphagnum moss and cling film.

          I've been meaning to try this method for a long time but never 'taken the plunge' but I hope to try it now that I've seen your good results :smile:
