I see Elon Musk is to receive a $23 billion bonus after price hike boosts Tesla profits by over 600%

Musk to receive $23bn bonus after price hikes boost Tesla profits

It is also reported that Musk is not yet working on a promised $25,000 electric car, not a surprise there. Why produce a cheaper car when you can stick on an extra 10k on the higher end of the market.

Once you get a certain amount of money I think it becomes difficult to not make more.
Not sure what that amount is but when I get there I'll let you know.

          Or alternatively, "want" more.

I see the Tesla factory in Shanghai has resumed operations after being forced to close for 3 weeks due to lockdown. They have reopened the factory under a closed loop system for 2 weeks to prevent further disruptions. Workers are reported to have to work 12hour shifts on a 6 consecutive day bases. Tesla have provided the work force with a sleeping bag and mattress plus an allowance for food.

It's a relatively common mineral but not enough mines and it gets processed in China. Although no one in government wants to say it out loud, there's a new concern of being so reliant on them (took long enough!)

I think I read somewhere that years ago in Cornwall they used to come across lithium when mining for tin..
They dumped it because nobody had a use for it.

I was out today for a fair trip (by my current standards) and did 108 miles, mainly on the A720, M8 and M90. I was flabbergasted by the number of Teslas I saw. They seem to be extremely popular around here, possibly because there is a Tesla dealer in Edinburgh.

They are very popular, Tesla have two models in the top 10 sellers list at 6th and 7th - amazing for such an expensive car.

I noticed that too Jocko travelling back from Gloucester last year.

I'm surprised at how popular they are, there's nothing attractive about them.

I think it is simply because their package actually works. I watched a review on the Kia EV6 last night (from Australia) and they are seeing a lot of the same woes we are here - - fantastic cars such as the EV6 or Ioniq5 being wholly let down by the charging infrastructure that is available publicly; it either isn't there or rarely works. Until we get over that massive hurdle, we are not going to achieve only having EV's on the road. They are a fantastic choice for an awful lot of people, but I am still unconvinced that they are not a stop-gap measure before we leap to something else.
