    Hello

It is our first year in this garden and we have quite a few trees. This tree has come into leaf quite quickly in the last month, most of it has lovely yellow leaves with a touch of green, but there is one branch that has shot up that has much bigger leaves and they are all green. The branch is new (does not have any lichens on it, all the others do). Should I cut this branch off please? Also, can anyone tell me what tree it is and if there is anything special we should do to care for it?

We cleared a metre around the base last year and lots of daffodils came up in spring. In April we cleared again, added growmore and put down a mulch of bark.

    Thank you.

Looking at my phone, I take a guess it's a variegated sycamore.
Yes, cut the green stem right back to where it joins the trunk if possible.

There are some around here where the reverted part has been left and it takes over in three or 4 year.
