And so, we are about to get the long awaited Sue Gray report.:roflol:

    Does anyone give a monkeys.

Do we really pay civil servants to do this kind of thing.

First thing I would do is close the bar at the palace of Westminster.
In the 80s it was considered acceptable to have a drink lunchtime and then go back to work, I even worked in police stations that had the bar open midday.
But that kind of thing is frowned upon now and considered not acceptable.

So why are the likes of MPs and the crusty old Lords still allowed to get away with it.

Because they literally make the law!

I absolutely agree. Get the bar out, stop the ridiculous expenses claims and bring their rules in line with the average working person.

            From the NHS website:

Northern Ireland and UK headline data on cases, deaths and testing no longer updated.

Apparently they don't know the difference between GB and UK. Or is this something to do with the NI Protocol?

            Well it always confuses me.
The whole set up with N. Ireland is crazy IMO.
It's part of UK but not part of GB,or is it the other way round?
How did we get into this state in the first place.
Anyone asks, I'm English, not UK or GB, I'd rather be condemned for being English.

We became the UK during the time we were in the EU I believe. To me it's just a title not the country we live in. Great Britain is our country and GB is written on anything I send abroad. I'm English living in Scotland with a stop off for 24 years on the Isle Of Man, which is located and addressed as being in the British Isles.

If I remember correctly, it was some time around 1700 (not 5 p.m. :heehee:) that the Act of Union created Great Britain when Scotland and England joined together. Then about 100 years later there was another Act of Union when the Kingdom of Ireland joined in and it became the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.

Sometime before WWII Ireland split and it then became the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Confused? Then don't get me going on the Commonwealth (proper name - Commonwealth of Nations) and the British protectorates, dominions, mandates, colonies and territories! :roflol:

The slowness of GC, also it locks up. Not happening with me elsewhere. It is frustrating first thing in the morning before I am fully awake!!!

I read up on it as the timing sounded off and what a tangle of naming and dates!
Anyway, as @shiney was there around 1700 I'm sure he remembers correctly :roflol:

I remember, at Senlac Hill, telling Harold to put his metal helmet on properly so that it protected his eyes - but did he listen? :nonofinger:

@shiney I agree with what you say. :) My quote above was referring to the fact that Great Britain seemed to lose it's name once we became members of the EU. Something else the EU took from us and then many other countries adopted it as well.
