Me too @Victoria, I've never had my own fuchsia before and now I have 3. The nice n easy I bought a few weeks ago is staying in a pot since it isn't hardy so can be moved indoors if it's too cold outside but these two have a bush like habit and should look beautiful by summer into autumn as they are different colours and will grow at different heights

Not a bad little haul at the garden centre today, despite a hiccup meaning they couldn't accept National Garden vouchers

Three cucumbers (not bloomin' cheap either!) as our ones are sulky at best, a couple of geraniums and a busy lizzie for my window box and a hot chilli (Trinidad perfume - Mrs C chose it) - all on the table here.

Some carrots (these are for a friend, not for me), lemon verbena, lemon thyme, three lupins, rhubarb and five hollyhocks

Also a tiny wee box of grass seed to repair Bailey's handywork in the middle of the grass and a 10kg bucket of chicken shh... chicken po.... chicken manure pellets

Oh, and I bought a pack of two dahlia corms (Creme de Cassis) but at a feel of the bag, I think there is six in there! I need to get them into some compost in pots tomorrow and see what appears.

That seems a very good price as we sell them at £3 (for our charity) and garden centres are charging at least double for that size. They'll need bigger pots for next year :blue thumb:

I recently bought a pair of locally handmade planters. I bought the trellis separately. The planter only measures 20cm deep. Is that deep enough to grow a climber that will eventually cover the 6ft x 3ft trellis? If need be, I could cobble the 2 together to make a deeper planter.

I didn't buy these, T'other Half brought them home from a friend ... two would have suited me for the rockery as I have no space for eight, maybe out in the lane, Gazanias ...

I can't be doing with cleaning the car - so have decided to make the whole process a little more fun using this kit. Amazon delivering on Friday and then the mayhem begins :-). Anyone have any hints/tips on the correct use of snow foam?

Well, after the third flipping year of my Echinops bannaticus looking great initially and then becoming yellow and shrivelled around flowering time I've decided to get rid for good, I much prefer eryngiums anyway and they have been far less fussy for me, might try again in a year or two with sphaerocephalus. So I've ordered a replacement Achillea 'Lilac Beauty' (can't get these to do well either, at least not long-term! :wallbanging:) and a Phlox 'Norah Leigh', I'm not really a fan of variegated plants but there was something about this one and butterflies like it, apparently! :)

That's a shame haven't you got any idea why it's happening? I like eryngiums I've got one in a pot would love to find a spot for it in the ground.

@mazambo No idea at all and past caring TBH, I bought it when I bought my first eryngium and now I much prefer eryngiums anyway, I never realised how varied a genus it was, as well as the typical blue and 'silver' ones you get evergreens like agavifolium and yuccifolium with completely different foliage, I'll be getting a third evergreen eryngium for the back of the border soon...

                              Eryngium pandanifolium Physic Purple

Yes, I remember seeing yours, it looked like it was doing really well, I was impressed by how floriferous it was for one in a pot! :blue thumb:
