I can't kneel as my knees won't bend enough.
I tend to lay down and support myself with my left arm, which means I only have one hand to work with then.
Always keep something near so I can drag myself up.

Off and on all day, planting out things like gazenia and coleus, a Daphne and dicentra, and moving some ferns and hostas. I've tried to concentrate on the jungle area and have managed to define some paths a little better ready for anything else I can plant in! Have just seen a jay fly off from the area with a snail so the molluscs aren't hanging about

That's why those seat/kneelers are quite good as they have arms to help you get up. I've been using it today, sitting, to continue planting the beans. Then I can get up easily without straining my knees.

Planted another 35 beans. Only another 100 to go  :phew:

Because I cant move my weight backwards I tend to fall forwards all the time, so it doesn't really matter what I kneel on I'm always being catapulted forwards.

I have the part that doesn't get more than a few minutes of sun each day, that is damp, that was overgrown with next doors weeds and is heavy clay soil.

These are brilliant. I have two of them so we can both have one. It is also handy in the seat position for putting the compost bag on when working at the potting bench.

I spent the afternoon hand weeding the big front flower bed. Some of it is like concrete. How tiny weeds manage to push through is amazing. Unfortunately, my lower back is now so painful I can hardly move. Even sitting is uncomfortable. At least it keeps my mind off my hip and knees.

Pete, I can appreciate that because of my balance problems I can't bend forward without the walker for safety reasons! :rolleyespink: My hip and knee are good now.
I have had my left hip replaced three times, originally in December 2014 and then attempted again in October 2018 but it was discovered I had e-Coli in it so it was removed till March 2019 when it was replaced again! :rolleyespink: Left knee was replaced in March 2018. All were from falls. It is not fun not having a hip for six months, :frown: As mentioned above, knee and hip are fine ... just have dreadful balance problems. I haven't given up on my garden though. :love30:

Oh, I can just picture you on Nude Gardening day because isn't that the pose that Burt Reynolds assumed for his Cosmo centerfold? :heehee:

I only did a little watering and then started puzzling over where to put my new plants.

This exciting. I got an alert that one of our retailers is now selling Wet and Forget! :blue thumb: I'm going to go out on Monday to see if I can buy some. I remember people here praising the way it works.

Has anyone used it on their greenhouse? Or what do you usually use for other than stone walkways?
