WHAT'S YOUR WEATHER LIKE - 2022

Thanks; yes I'm Yorkshire's top ambassador especially for the outdoor dire weather clothing and welly companies; I should be on commission.

Heavy rain last night for a change and this morning I'd just settled into the studio when I had the rythm of the falling rain just above my head on the roof; good job we're half way through the year in June or the weather would be bad.

Yorkshire is a beautiful county; the sun's shining as I type.

At 2.30pm it started raining just a few spots, then all of a sudden it poured down, then some hail then back to rain. We were walking the boys so had to shelter under a tree. I think that it was the edge of a thunderstorm that we might have had, that always happens.

 

At least we get a beautiful evening to sit out in. This is the most important time of the day to unwind and relax knowing that all the day's jobs are done. 16C.

Had a squall this afternoon and one of my 2 Sungolds fell off the table on to the patio and was decapitated by the top third.
Is it worth keeping? Will it grow twin branches please?

I wouldn't worry too much over the accident; tomato plants are pretty resilient & will often bounce back - even if they fruit a few weeks later!

I've had accidents with my toms over the 20 years I've been growing them on our balcony as well.

 

The day has been pretty warm here with about 20C as our max this afternoon. I was out on the balcony for a few minutes wondering how I could redistribute my pots to make some more room when I heard the sound of raindrops on plastic! I couldn't see or feel anything for a couple of minutes then the raindrops began to enter the balcony driving me indoors. When I looked out about 10 mins later it was all dry!

The wind got quite strong for a couple or 3 hours this afternoon & I was forced to take my Geraniums out of the rings on the balcony railings because the wind was almost breaking them down.

I've got out of bed in the wrong country this morning; it's dry outside.



Not for long though and as usual I could fly a kite without trouble.

With the sun shining I can see the grass needs cutting.
