Bright sun 17C heading to 24c - a gentle breeze. We had a slight shower overnight but not enough to wash the sand off the car. That's a job for later.

        Hi,

A beautiful Yorkshire morning this morning; what a wonderful place Yorkshire is when the sun shines.

        Kind regards, Colin.

Overnight rain and an overcast start to the day. The temperature never fell below 13°C last night.
The sky is beginning to brighten now.

            Hi,

            I'm sorry for the constant moaning about our Yorkshire weather and don't want to put anyone off from visiting Yorkshire at all; Yorkshire is the biggest county in England split into four sections and it's just wonderful;

Yorkshire | Stay, Discover & Do | Welcome to Yorkshire

There's nowhere else I want to live; Bron and I are both true Yorkshire born and bred and it's easy to take everything good about Yorkshire for granted and to just moan about the weather.

Please pack you bags and give Yorkshire a visit; you'll be made most welcome. :)

            Kind regards, Colin.

Yorkshire is lovely, I had a cousin living there and visited them in Keighley, lots of wonderful scenery around :blue thumb:

It's another  day here ... going to be hot again this afternoon,
The builders are digging a trench for the footings of my new kitchen extension and sweating cobs !

It is 66f 17c and the guessers say that it is going up to 92f 30c with lots of humidity. Shades are shut in the sunny windows now and I plan to enjoy this first day of summer. Real summer!

@Retired I'm glad to hear that as I avoided the area last time I was there. My mother was a war bride from Darlington and I would perhaps liked to have gone there but the idea of the weather being even worse than yours, being further north, I decided not to waste precious travel dollars going there.

                  Hi,

Thanks Michael; Bron and I often drove over to Keithley many years ago; we used to visit Euromail Tools; Sunwin House and M&S. You'll know Skipton is the gateway to The Yorkshire Dales and Keithley is next to Skipton. The drive from Huddersfield over to Skipton was always boring but from Skipton up to The Lake District was always a delight through beautiful contryside unless of course we got behind a car towing a caravan; both The Yorkshire Dales and The Lake District are hotspots for tourists and rightly so.

Thanks Lori; I fully understand your reasoning and agree Darlington will have even worse weather than we have but there are members on the forum living much higher north suffering even worse weather that Darlington; I hope you enjoyed your time with us; our Yorkshire winters just drag on for about nine months each year followed by three months of bad weather although catch anywhere in the UK whilst the weather is decent and enjoy all on offer; the change in weather over the last few days has been dramatic indeed; as I type it's 21C for us which makes it feel like we're living in an oven because we aren't used to such heat; one council was out spreading sand on the roads because the tar was melting.

I prefer our cold weather though because we are used to working in heavy clothes and if it warms up we can take some of the clothes off but too much heat I couldn't cope with; I did some work in the garden this morning but it got too hot for comfort and as I say it's only 21C at the moment.

                  Kind regards, Colin.

Beauty spots get crowded in this weather, I live at the western tip of the Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales and places you'd think were remote become congested in this weather :SUNsmile::SUNsmile:
I tend to go places more in Spring time  or when it rains

                            Hi,

You can visit Yorkshire any time of the year then Michael; we can suffer a cloudburst even on a glorious day; usually after I apply the last brushful of exterior paint. :)

I couldn't agree more pete; the Christmas items will soon be on the store shelves in fact I don't know why they bother removing them.

Been a beautiful day here and still is; I could get used to this full time. :yay:

                            Kind regards, Colin.

We've had a nice few days here in East Anglia. 2 days we went to other cities last week & the weather wasn't bad at all. Saturday was perhaps the worst day when temps dropped down into the mid-teens! :( On Sunday they started to recover & have been warming up these last couple of days. :) We are forecast 25-26C for tomorrow & then to stay about that level till the weekend! :)
