I was woken up in the night, around 2.30am by the sound of next doors dog crying and whimpering.
I'm not sure but I get the feeling that they have been away on holiday for the last week.
Usually one of the daughters looks after the dog while they are away.

But it's fairly obvious it's not wanted as they always seem to bring the dog back and drop it off a good day or more before they get home.
Pretty disgusting really, I hope they get home soon as I can still hear it now, not sure how long it's been left now because I didn't see them drop it off.

How absolutely awful ... is there anyone you can call? RSPCA? I would find that very upsetting. :frown:

We must have hit the end of days as we seem to be going backwards. Guess I'd better find my old bellbottoms!

If its still on its own in the morning I will be thinking of doing that.
I've looked in the front window and the dog looks ok, not sure how much of a mess there might be in there.
The dog is actually about 12 yrs old, the daughters were teenagers and they wanted a dog, so the parents got one, within two years both had upped and left home leaving the dog with the parents who really would have been better without it.
So the poor dog has had a lifetime of being unwanted.

They came home in the early hours of the morning, but I was still awake listening to it crying at 2am.
It was left on its own for at least 36 hrs.

                        Awful but happy they're home.
Sorry but I wouldn't be able to let it go unnoticed, I would politely have to raise my concerns with them. Let them know that the poor mite had been distressed and crying for hours!

Just let the cat out the greenhouse.
He must have been in there when I closed the door last night.
He came up to me, had a big yawn and wandered off.
