    Thanks @SunnyGin just been out and both plants have had a haircut.

    Removed some of the yellowing leaves on the others too.

      @SunnyGin I had wilting tops on my Super Sweet 100, not sure why, but the plant recovered is doing well.

      Temps have been really, really high in the greenhouse, so probably that.

        The unusual thing this year is having such a prolonged hot spell early in the season. I get higher temperatures later but by then the root systems will have grown to cope. I feel at the moment their roots are unable to cope with the amount of leaves and consequent transpiration rates. The compost may be saturated but the roots cannot drink it fast enough.

          @JWK I agree, I have lots of leaves with upward leaf curl to slow transpiration.They have been well watered but we have had a lot of hours of direct sun, I can see it all on my tanned arms and it's not July yet!

            Wilting? Bought a couple of Chilies I hadn't grown before. When they arrived the plants were nicely damp but one of the pair was wilted!! "I'll have to send that back", I thought, well complain anyway! But within three days it was growing AND NOT wilted! No idea why! Logic suggests it has to be something to do with normal uptake of moisture? BUT why was the other, of same variety, not wilted??? Isn't gardening wonderful!!!

              I've just noticed one tomato plant on the allotment keeps wilting.
              I've watered it twice now and it picks up but then wilts again in sunshine.

              Not watered any of the others and they seem fine.

                First fruit set outside from a March 29th sowing. Crimson Crush and Aurora, an early bush.

                  I have 3 badly wilting Toms, I've chopped them back hoping side shoots will start.
                  Oh and I've fed with strong feed, It's kill or cure time now:scratch:

                    Two of mine are suffering in the heat, it's something to do with watering or lack of as I have blossom end rot. It's very difficult to capture this with photos. Both plants did well until 7 to 10 days ago.

                    This is "Stupice", a potato leaved variety, in the greenhouse, it has smaller leaves at the top some are browned, difficult to see from this photo, just showing how spindly it looks:

                    The first three trusses look OK with good sized fruit coming. I have another "Stupice" outdoors and that looks perfectly normal and is a nice compact shape and good colour.



                    The other affected plant is "Honeymoon", overall the plant doesn't look normal, with smaller leaves kind of stunted. It has blossom end rot on the second truss:

                    I'm taking the approach of removing the affected growth and encouraging a healthy looking sideshoot from lower down to take over as the main growing point.

                      Meanwhile down at the allotment all my outdoor plants are looking good, no sign of wilting. I water very infrequently but as they are in the clay soil and been treated rough I think they have toughened up quicker. I have ripe fruit on my 2 "Sungold" plants:

                        @JWK Stupice for me last year was a very strong plant. It withstood blight and must have been over 14ft in length and still kicking out fruit until it was removed. I think it might have taken over the world if I hadn't stopped it.

                            Just back from watering my friend's tomatoes. Outdoor bush types really cracking on. Grushovka has nice crop of green (will be pink) plums. Little Maskotka has half snapped its main stem under the weight of fruit. Decided to leave it well alone until she gets home tomorrow! IMG_20220626_084553.jpg

                              @JWK I have something similar regards to the leaves, John...lots of brown crispy ends and some crazy leaf curl.
