Errr, except that the actual percentage of eligible British people who voted for it was 17%.

That rules me out then! :rolleyespink: I had better withdraw my name from the list. :heehee:

I think we should also rule out the Romans, Normans, Angles, Saxons, not to mention the Vikings, Picts and Celts (I said 'not to mention' them! :nonofinger:). :roflol:

Can't see why any person that is a British citizen can't be Prime Minister. :noidea: (Actually that's what the law says). I wonder whether Alexander Boris De Pfeffel Johnson thinks that as well. :heehee:

          I obviously wasn't sarcastic enough.
One of the problems with a democracy is that quite often, overall, a minority often has the majority of votes.

Knowing a little of 20th century history this statement makes me decidedly uncomfortable.

I still qualify as I'm a peasant going back to before Alfred burnt the cakes.

You can't say English, it's a dirty word in PC Britain ,but you really mean British, or have we already split from Scotland, Wales and N. Ireland, although the EU are doing their best on the last on.;)
Why ,when race is mentioned ,do we always end up going back to the battle of Hastings? Or other events from the mists of time that are ridiculous examples in comparison to what has happened in the last 30yrs.

To follow most recent events I'd suggest an Asian woman would be front runner, positive discrimination and all that.

Knowing a bit about 19th and 20th century anglo-indian relations, and having had dealings with Indian bureaucracy, having a disproportionate Indian presence in the English parliament makes me uncomfortable. Sorry! :)

Not everyone who was eligible to vote did so..(with me so far?) 52% of those who voted, voted 'out'. 48% etc etc voted 'stay'. Overall, it added up to 17% of the British electorate voted 'out'. Those who didn't vote should be ashamed of themselves. And perhaps one day there'll be an enquiry as to why thousands of overseas votes 'didn't arrive in time'. Still, all ancient history now. Onward and upward

Never thought Norrie could beat Djokovic but Norrie has done well, especially when he never had a mention on the TV at the start of Wimbledon .
To much emphasis put on Murray, who lets face it has always been a bit iffy even when he was fit, and Radacanu who had a fluky win in New York a year ago and has done nothing since.
