It doesn't seem to have held back Macron. Like him or (more probably) loathe him, he's turned out to be an impressive, dignified leader.

I have lost a stack of six books.

Our charity shop had a series of unknown detective stories by Something Tote, I bought one to decide if they are worth reading. They were so I went back and bought the rest, placed them in reading order on the dining table and now they have mysteriously vanished.

We have turned the place upside down, but the pile is just gone.

You have probably put them somewhere safe so that when you want the next one you will be able to find it.:roflol:
I do that all the time, just stop looking and you will fall over them.

Its a bit like when you cant remember a word or a name, all the time you keep thinking it never comes until later when it comes at you out of the blue.

I don't usually look at this thread, it's too negative ...
but today I've been angered !
I drove up the mountain behind this village to take some photos and what did I see all over the place ?

            127_1341.JPG

            127_1347.JPG

            127_1353.JPG

            It's EVERYWHERE ! :nonofinger:
It's disgusting, and these photos only show a small amount of what's strewn all about the place :frown:

I also encountered some idiot drivers ... well most of them really ... stupid morons racing past me on those narrow mountain roads as if they were on a racing track !!!:mad::mad:
            it's dangerous and irresponsible.

I try not to be negative but today I feel as if I'm surrounded by a lot of empty headed nerds who don't give a sh*t about anything or anyone  Nobody seems to care about anything these days.

            End of rant

I totally agree with you ... and I would be angered if I saw such here. Disgusting and these are what make the earth go downhill. I am pleased my friends, in reality and on line, have the same high standards I do.

Solved! After checking the fridge, the freezer and the garage we found them. Someone had put the books into, of all things, Bookshelf! :yikes: The very same bookshelf that we checked thousands of times last night.

Well, who would have thought of looking next to Jaqueline Wilson's and two shelves above Agatha. :th scifD36: Honestly.

Not exactly a moan but carrying on the theme of things disappearing. Taking the washing off the line today one of my old wooden, sprung pegs did literally that from my fingers, sprung into the ether. It wasn't amongst the washing and nowhere to be found in the garden. You might think, well it's only a peg, but it's one less of those I adopted from my mother 40 years ago and still function perfectly, unlike their modern counterparts.

Why do I look at the Tory leadership contenders and go; oh please not that one or that one or them etc. Why is there not one that I go; oh I hope they win.

I have misplaced my favourite hand clippers again. They are not in the compost heap this time, been through it twice now top to bottom, they are too big for the seagulls to take for nesting. Which means they are in one of the flower beds waiting for me to weed it.

Looks as though it may be the 'least worse' type of decision.

No use asking me about it as my reasoning is not logical. I wouldn't vote for Liz Truss because I can't stand the supercilious look on her face! :heehee:
