Oh well no worries ,I'm not the first and definitely not the last to have a dud pkt of seeds. Fortunately for me I like these as much as the ones on the pkt.:blue thumb:

I don't ever compare plants with their pkt image anymore, after discovering they sometimes look completely different...they cunningly take close up shots ..enlarge them even more...leaving you to discover later that the blooms are actually tiny!!

:thankyou: for going to the trouble of researching further.

My soil is the opposite (sandy loam) @Upsydaisy and like dust at the moment. I meant using garden soil in pots to see if it makes any difference to early growth. I'll repot mine and see what happens. I may add just a little compost though.

If I plant mine in the border now they'll never be seen again.

First of the Giant Lillies has bloomed.

Miniature Antirrhinums are getting going now in the tubs. 20220711_115222.jpg ...and front of borders, I particularly like this one.

Although the new small Dahlias have begun to bloom, they've still got to get going, unlike the big ones that are older and well established.

Don't you cut the side shoots off, I always cut them off because it becomes such a tangle otherwise, and I feel there isn't enough ventilation. but I grow them in a confined space so maybe that makes a difference.

@Michael Hewett Yes I always cut them off to leave one clean central stem.

When these started "wilting" I did nothing at all to them for about 6 weeks. They weren't growing & I didn't expect them to pick up again. But when I noticed there were sideshoots forming again instead of removing them I left them to grow to see if they would take off again or if they would "wilt" as well.

They have started to grow & are beginning to make up for lost time! I even spied another tiny tomato this morning! :)

Extremely hot Sunday and an aphid attack just stopped it opening properly i think.

                          Thank you @Upsydaisy and @Victoria,
I try to keep the Osteos and Calibrachoas over winter, with varying amounts of success each year. I have other colours of the Calibrachoa as well.
Tom West is said to be frost hardy but I haven't tried it in the ground, Maybe I'll take a few cuttings to see how well it does.
You could have one of the cuttings if you like @Upsydaisy (if I am successful in rooting them)
