We had overnight rain which continued until lunchtime. Since then it has been a mix of sun and cloud but humid and 20°C.
We are now included in the Amber Warning for Monday and Tuesday.

I was trying to stick Formica with Evostick.
As fast as you put the Formica on and rolled it, it would just curl up at the edges.
              Absolute rubbish.

All 3 of our sons hit 40C where they live on Monday....their employers are good though and they will undoubtedly be working from home. London underground isn't pleasant at the best of times in rush hour but in those temps it will be...:phew: :yikes: !!

It felt COLD here today - with 23C!!! I almost thought about putting a jumper on again! :rolleyespink: Tomorrow we are forecast a little more heat but it will be Sunday when it starts to really take off again! It's almost frightening to think about the heat we will be having for 3 days - & nights! :yikes:

We are right in the middle of the area where we are forecast 37/38C on Monday & Tuesday next week! This is the first RED ALERT for extreme heat ever issued in the UK by the Met Office!!! :wow::hotsun:

Bound to be, they always shut schools first.
Then the railways cant run, are they still running in Spain?
                        Then the roads will melt.
Then they wont be able to supply enough water.
Then the electric companies equipment will overheat.
There's bound to be more, but I cant think of them.

Then there will be a Milk shortage.
Then shops will run out of Loo Rolls.

Living in Essex at the time I remember 1976 well. I was heavily pregnant throughout the heatwave and visiting my dad twice a day in hospital, a 12 mile round trip. The week after introducing my first daughter to the world the weather broke with thunderstorms and floods.

Mostly cloudy and breezy again. The temperature crept up a bit as the day progressed from 15C/59F to 18C/64F.
