    29C.

We were originally forecast rain for tomorrow and that disappeared a couple of days ago, then yesterday it reappeared for Friday ( only a dribble, but hey we're grateful for anything). Today that has preformed a vanishing trick too , no rain forecast at least until Aug 1st. , but hopefully they're wrong. :fingers crossed:

        Hi,

Thanks @wiseowl I've got lots of fans and these usually enjoying watching me work.

Thanks for the tip shiney; normally up here in the north if I put the chocolate in the fridge it would warm it up. :heehee: Yes I shop at Aldi; because of my dairy intolerance my wife and I exclude all dairy and have changed to fresh Soya Drink which we use in tea; on cereal and for baking; we use a lot of this Soya and I used to buy it from Morrison's costing £1.10 per litre; one day out of curiosity I popped into Aldi and noticed they too sold fresh Soya but amazingly at 56p per litre; we save over £300 per year just on Soya alone; it wouldn't surprise me if Morrison's and Aldi fresh Soya came from the same supplier. I'm very careful though shopping at Aldi; for a long time I bought boxes of cat biscuits from Aldi because they were quite a bit cheaper than buying at Morrison's; what I hadn't noticed was that although the boxes were identical in size the Aldi box contained a lot less bicuits by weight.

It's too hot in the studio to be playing my violin; I've just enjoyed a practice but it was poor due to the heat from the sun coming through the blinds; this heat also affects the violin tuning but it's so incredibly rare I'm enjoying it and not complaining; tomorrow when the temperature drops I can resume grafting installing the steps in the garden.

I wonder sometimes if I'm typing text or the computer is; words change on their own as if by magic; I often type a word only for it to change and have to correct it; I know I can suffer senior moments but I could worry about such things; I used to have the spell checker activated but it couldn't spell; oh hum never mind it's not the end of the world unlike this rare heat which is dominating the news; in a couple of days the circus will move to a different town.

Just being lazy for a change. :phew:

        Kind regards, Colin.

I think that because the forum is run on an American platform it also has a built in spellchecker that tries to convert everything to American spelling.

            Spellcheckers don't work properly:-

There are a number of different versions of this poem.

            ‘Owed to a Spelling Checker’

(It clearly shows why a pair of eyes is more reliable than your spellchecker)

            I have a spelling checker
            It came with my PC
It plane lee marks four my revue
Miss steaks eye can knot sea.

Eye ran this poem threw it.
You sure reel glad two no
Its vary polished in it’s weigh,
            My checker tolled me sew.

A checker is a bless sing.
It freeze yew lodes of thymes.
It helps me right awl stiles two reeds,
And aides me when aye rime.

To rite with care is quite a feet
Of witch won should be proud.
And wee mussed dew the best wee can,
            Sew flaws are knot aloud.

And now bee cause my spelling
Is checked with such grate flare,
Their are know faults with in my cite.
Of none eye am a wear.

Each frays come posed up on my screen
Eye trussed to be a joule.
The checker poured oar every word
            To cheque sum spelling rule.

That’s why aye brake in two averse
            By righting wants two pleas.
Sow now ewe sea why aye dew prays
Such soft wear for pea seas!

Just so I'm not off topic, it is 36C out there now :)

It seems to be hotting up faster today than yesterday, it looks like the magic 40c is really on the cards for today somewhere in the country.

We have quite a wind blowing here but apart from drying off the sweat a bit faster it's having no real impact on temperature.

It is 28c here with a lovely cool breeze. For once we have it better than the UK, Summertime that is, we can always be better in the Winter.

                      Keep cool and hydrated.

                            Hi,

Many thanks @shiney for the excellent spell checker poem. Before posting I check for errors and to make sure I've not added anything which might offend but sometimes I don't recognize what I see knowing that no way did I type it.

I'm on a number of forums and the first ever forum I joined the mods behaved like traffic wardens on speed; they jumped on the slightest spelling mistake; on here it's very friendly indeed with everyone rubbing along well together.

35C here at the moment and the trees are gently waving to me but I'm definitely indoors today because not being used to this heat I might melt or self combust if I go out.

                            Tomorrow was forecast thunderstorms a few days ago it had changed to showers by yesterday and today changed again;

                            upload_2022-7-19_13-40-14.png
Now as seen tomorrow is forecast dry again; I can easily bring a monsoon on simply by doing a bit of exterior painting.

I love this heat and remember it from the dark ages 70 years ago as a kid when we enjoyed long hot summers and short severe winters. I hope it lasts another month then starts to pick up a bit.

                            Kind regards, Colin.

Thermometer in the shade reads 30 today, much better.
It has become cloudy this afternoon and feels very humid. I just heard there's a massive thunder storm going on in a place about 10 miles away, with torrential rain.

I guess Scotland's summer is over. It started this morning overcast with a cooling wind, then the sun broke through, then the clouds built and with that, the rain started. Not a lot but just enough to remind us we live in Scotland. Since then the sun has tried on and off but the clouds have won out. Warm at 25°C.
