        39.8C here now :phew:

On here the members sometimes take the pee out of what is said but that is usually where the comment could have more than one meaning or implication. :heehee:

I don't mind about spelling and grammar except when the post is from a student at college or university where they are asking for an opinion or vote on a project they are doing. Those are supposed to be vetted by their instructor so should be correct.

I'm guilty of typing too fast (some say my posts are too long :rolleyespink:) and I can miss a letter or two and, horror of horrors, I don't read it through before posting it  :nonofinger:

              Try reading this:-

A Plan for the Improvement of English Spelling

              by Mark Twain

              For example,
in Year 1 that useless letter “c” would be dropped to be replased either by “k” or “s”, and likewise “x” would no longer be part of the alphabet. The only kase in which “c” would be retained would be the “ch” formation, which will be dealt with later.

              Year 2
might reform spelling, so that “which” and “one” would take the same konsonant, wile

              Year 3
might well abolish “y” replasing it with “i”

and Iear 4 might fiks the “g/j” anomali wonse and for all.

Jenerally, then, the improvement would kontinue iear bai iear with Iear

Iear 5 doing awai with useless double konsonants, and

              Iears 6-12 or so

modifaiing vowlz and the rimeining voist and unvoist konsonants.

Bai Iear 15 or sou, it wud fainali bi posibl tu meik ius ov thi ridandant letez “c”, “y” and “x” -- bai now jast a memori in the maindz ov ould doderez -- tu riplais “ch”, “sh” and “th” rispektivli.

              Fainali, xen,
aafte sam 20 iers ov orxogrefkl riform, wi wud hey a lojikl, kohirnt speling in ius xrewawt xe Ingliy-spiking wend.

                      Hi,

                      I've just copied this to my computer files;

                      upload_2022-7-19_15-24-1.png

In a couple of weeks or so I can look back at it and sigh.

                      Kind regards, Colin.

Patio reading 34C. Clouds are bubbling up from the West bringing with them a chance of light rain and thunder. It's become increasingly muggy and oppressive.....and I now have a headache, just to make matters worse.

Where is every body, no body in the street and no cars going by, you would think that there was a storm coming, or some thing.
Lots of sirens going, not sure what that is about.
