Decapitated buds

    Hi everyone, just noticed a couple of the buds on the teasel have disappeared can't see them anywhere around the plant, not overly bothered but what would be the likely culprit? The rest of the buds have aphids around them but i wouldn't think that they have anything to do with it.

    Perhaps a neighbour with a view to infestation prevention? :biggrin:

        Would've been my guess as well. Probably a neighbor who doesn't like those plants or some bored children on their way home.

            Didn't spinners or weavers use this as part of the process years ago?

            Have you got any druids or some such round your way running around in home made sack cloth

              I can't think of anything that would take the buds. Birds feed on the seed head in the winter but not buds now.

              My sunflower head has gone missing today:heehee: have a feeling that could be squirrels, and a echinops head has been left as a calling card i think :heehee:

                Definitely squirrel... Last year I wittnessed one decapitating my sunflower. Grrr... I so much wanted it (sunflower) to flower longer.

                  put some peanuts out and water for them they will stop eating your plants
