YAWN, YAWN, WAKEY, WAKEY - 2022

@Upsydaisy it will probably be a good visit with your brother and you can see first hand how he is doing. @Victoria I hope the insurance people make it quick for your other half. Nobody likes all of the admin side of fender benders.

It looks like another sunny hot day here but luckily overnight we did get some rain which will have prepared the grass and gardens for another onslaught of heat.

I've decided to quick cut down some more of that crabapple tree. The hillbillies on the one side of me had hacked at the side facing their yard and it looks terribly misshapen. I hope to get that done before the thermometer rises too far. Got the chain saw oiled and ready to go!

And I've got some grocery shopping to get done. Don't need much, just enough to get through the weekend and let the young people have the shops to themselves. And I'm thinking of flipping over the border on Monday anyway so I'll be getting groceries there too.

Good morning all, hope everyone is well today.

The visit with my brother went ok inasmuch as it was really good to see him. He is however not quite as good as I had thought so he will need us to monitor him over the forthcoming weeks. We also discovered a few issues we're not happy with in regards to his care . I hasten to add he is not in danger or being ill treated but the care and wellbeing side of things could and should be better. Issues have been brought to the notice of the management before and although positive noises are made they don't get followed through it seems. So once again they will be spoken to.
Getting a clear picture of what his days are like and whether or not his agreed care plan is being carried out in full is very difficult, a bit like trying to get a clear picture of the jigsaw puzzle when pieces are missing. We can't ask him questions as he really has very little memory recall now.
Some other worrying issues were witnessed not involving him ....but it could easily have been, these too will be brought to the managements notice.

We had hoped this move would bring us peace of mind....hmm.. not too sure now, fingers crossed it's just teething issues that will get sorted out.

I'm glad our parents never got know about this final diagnosis for my brother as it was upsetting enough for them to witness him going from a healthy and extremely active young man to one who lost movement in all his large joints over a relatively short space of time making him very disabled.

They can however rest in peace knowing that his annoyingly nagging sister's will be watching over every aspect of his life and whoa betide anyone mistreating him.

Together we're a force to be reckoned with!!

That doesn't sound too god about your brother's care @Upsydaisy ... I hope it can all be sorted out because it must be worrying for you and your sister, and it is important that he's happy. It's bad enough for you having him in the condition he's in without worrying about problems with his care.
I'm glad you were able to see him.

Don't know whether to say I am pleased or not regarding your visit to R. Whatever, I am sure you will keep on top of things.
I had an e-mail waiting this morning saying my Passport has been printed and sent by Courier, so now we wait for the call from DHL. They say the old one will be sent separately and take about thee weeks, so Royal Mail. I sent it to Durham and it cost £105 and some odd pence.
The Adjuster and Mechanic looked at J's car and said as soon as the Insurance gives the okay they will order the parts, so all go there.
On the downside, J has discovered a fault in the wall tiles ... there are two different batches and a colour difference so he is going to the DIY this morning to get it sorted, and to buy me a new water moisture tester for my pots.
My Oxalis triangularis corms came yesterday (I got one free) so I planted them so just have to water all my seedlings/plantlets.

Good day
It is going to be another hot day and I had turned on the big sprinkler system last night so everybody got a good soaking at 4 this morning. I just have the potted plants to water and most of that I just turn on the taps and play with the valves to water those "zones".

I had a lovely day yesterday. I got calls from the sons, Sam and lots of people just calling to say hello, how are you. Really nice

Right now I've got three loads of bread dough getting pummeled by the machines and the dough should be ready to form and for it's second rise by 9ish. And I've got laundry going because it is a good day for line drying. Then at 10:30 I go to see my wine people and I should be back home and puttering by 11:30.

And Doc Martin has just started.

How much more pleasant can it get!!

I've just finished churning some strawberry ice cream for a friend and got a new base cooked for some maple walnut ice cream. Felt like the right thing to do when it is Tarzan and Jane weather

It looks like another sunny day. The guessers predicted this and at least 90f to go with it. I'll wash all the linens today instead of tomorrow to take advantage of the super quick line drying we're getting.

I need to do some more baking to take along to the Christmas party tonight. It will be nice seeing some friends that I haven't seen in a couple of years. Still haven't figured out what to wear as I don't have any summer weight clothes in red!

#1 Son is coming around so we can go through all of the legal paperwork to prepare documents for Sept 1st. This is not his weekend with his daughters so we're using the time to make sure we have all of our ducks in a row for the next round. I did explain to the girls last weekend that though Mom is angry it had to do with the judge's decisions and in no way were they responsible in any way for her unpleasantness. They've done nothing wrong. Yes, she is taking out her anger on those around her..
