    Starting the day overcast with the sun breaking through, 24c going to 37c, as forecast yesterday but we only reached just under 34c.

      Not raining at the moment but a wet start after overnight rain with showers forecast for today and it's another kite flying day. :biggrin:

          It was unpleasant being outside last night, there was a big grass fire quite a long way from us, 10 miles in a straight line. Not choking smoke but not nice. It seems to be under control now, the firemen were there overnight to keep it damped down.

          Today it's a bit cooler, 20c with a breeze. The sun keeps popping out.

                  It is 34,3 with a hot breeze. This is the hottest for us so far this year. We are in side in the a/c. Girl is on the bed but silly Boy just went out.

                      Algarve is coming out of it as we come out of Orange Alert at 7pm tonight then Yellow Alert till 7pm tomorrow. Then we should drop to low 30s. These high lows at night are the killers. We have kept the a/c on at night the past two nights set at 23c like the lounge when we are in it. We are 35.9c now so may hit our forecast 37c.

                      Above us, Alentejo, Central, etc, may be on Red Alert as they are always hotter than us down here with the Atlantic on two sides.

                      July and August are my least favourite months and why I hibernate and why we used to go back to England for a few months with cats in tow, but we all missed Portugal. :smile:

                          I just want to add that we on a Red Alert for Fire and there is one at the moment in Sao Marcus de Serra in the Northernmost part of Silves County (our County) in mountainous scrubland and there are 40 vehicles, 150 Firemen and 4 Air Assist getting it under control.
