It was so refreshing to wake today to a lovely 18c ... can't remember when we were that low last!

I received very sad news yesterday. My half-brother Clive in Nottingham passed away, two years to the day that our friend here died. Clive's funeral is today. We only "discovered" each other in January 2013 and Clive, his wife Sharron and their youngest son Justin came here to visit (and meet for the first and only time) in October 2014. I will put up a picture of us later.

J goes for MRI next Tuesday and has to take a Covid test on Monday.

Nothing on the agenda today. except waiting for DHL to call so J can go meet him for my Passport. They messaged yesterday saying they will deliver today. J will arrange furniture in The Baffa.

          Good day
Everyone seems to be having a great day so far. @Victoria it is sad that your half brother passed on but is sounds (and looks) like this sad event has also prompted happy memories.

I'm getting picked up by my son is a few minutes. His van is repaired and he is taking me to his work where I picked him up the other night so I can get my van back. I should be fully awake and alert by the time we get there and I need to drive back :heehee:

          Cheers all :coffee:

2pm fishish today thank god!, had sad news at the weekend, a friend I used to work with has Cancer and there’s nothing they can do, so if I’m a little quiet and a little mixed up you know why now, have a lovely afternoon all :)

I'm in the same boat as I mentioned above, I was notified yesterday my half brother passed away.
:yay: My Passport arrived. J lay down for his afternoon nap and said "I bet DHL will ring." Bingo ... within three minutes they rang so off he went to meet them in Algoz.

              Is R's Passport not British?

He just lay down again, and it turns out they cannot get the parts for my car (it is a 1997) so they are going to make something.

I know only too well. My Mother died aged 36 from it and at age 38 I got it and then again aged 65, in a different place. Also too many people to mention, family and friends.

Just be there for your friend as moral support. Vxx

Cancer is THE most evil thing on this planet. I probably should post this is the latest moan thread but I just get so angry about all of the people I know who have gotten cancer and went through lots of treatments and got a reprieve or sadly, died. Billions of dollars go into research and by now you'd think they would have developed a pill to take care of it instead of using all of the seemingly barbaric procedures presently inflicted on people.

@Victoria my little car is only 22 this year but yours, because it is 25, is now officially a collector's edition :)

Interesting, I don't know what it is here, or the UK. There are several people (in the business) who would buy mine in a heartbeat. Me and Izzy up in the hills ... Izzy & Me.jpg
I am the second owner, bought her in 2007. Her registration is IZ so I called her Izabel and it turned out the first owner's daughter's name was Izabel and never thought of that. I call her Izzy Blue.

Yes totally agree cancer has a firm grip on the human population , from all walks of life and from all corners of our planet. They are a lot better at detecting and treating it now but sadly it's such an aggressive disease that it calls for harsh aggressive treatment. I have numerous relatives from Grandparents, Aunts/ Uncles, Cousins, both Parents and friends who sadly lost their battle with it ,but on the positive side there are many who were diagnosed swiftly and successfully treated. ..a very dear friend who has recently had a 2nd mastectomy ,an Aunt who had an extremely long and tough encounter with it when she was in her 40s and she is 90 this year, my hubs, my sister and myself . I am currently supporting a childhood friend who's husband was diagnosed 2 months ago with terminal cancer, he is my age. He is bravely having rounds of Chemo, he's actually on a break from it at the moment but he has said all along that if all his tumours show no sign of significant response he will not carry on, as his quality of life with the drug cocktails is not good.

Huge steps have been made in the fight against it and dedicated researchers and charities are gradually inching the way forward towards cures. Unfortunately as it can hit any part of the body one cure won't treat every cancer, so many different treatments/ cures are required. But one day....:dbgrtmb:
