Night Scented Stock

    I have Sweet William "Rockin Red" and they grow to about three feet. The CEO didn't realise and stuck them in hanging baskets but even cramped they are over two feet tall.
    @pete Gorse on the golf course is like that. No scent if you try to smell it but on the breeze it is wonderful.

      Thanks but no. The flowers looked exactly like sweet william, and I'd be convinced that's what they were, if not for the fact they grow at least 3 times taller than sweet williams apparently grow.

      I grew them one year in a bed with rich new soil and they got to about one and a half feet, but that was because of the soil. They don't usually get that big.
      Maybe there's another plant called Sweet William as well as the Dianthus, it's often the case that different plants have the same common name.
      Also there are several plants called Sweet something-or-other, maybe it was one of those you grew ?
