              Only dropped to 13°C overnight. Today is a beautiful sunny day and despite the patchy cloud, the temperature is already 23°C. Very hot in the sun despite a good breeze.

                Hi,

                Many thanks wiseowl; :dbgrtmb: yes I'm positive my glass is rated as half empty and I'm optimistic it will soon be empty; living here in Yorkshire seems forever especially during our long cold dark winters; I'm just surprised we've enjoyed a nice hot summer this year it reminds me of 70 years ago as a child. It's being so cheerful that keeps me going.

                Rain was forecast for this afternoon so I've been working outdoors where it's been very pleasant indeed;

                If rain keeps being forecast I'm sure they'll get it right eventually but I hope they keep forcasting rain until Sunday allowing me to complete the new garden steps. :yahoo:

                Top two side panels already made and drying so they can be installed tomorrow; whoopee.

                Kind regards, Colin.

                  Screenshot_20220729-170245.png A lot of our plants are dying and we will have to choose which ones to try and save from next week.Heart breaking, I think we will probably dig them up sooner rather than later as we won't be able to bear having dead plants in the borders...too sad .:sad::cry3:

                        I find it interesting that it says filling and maintaining ornamental ponds will be banned using a hose.
                        Most bans I remember have always allowed pond filling if the pond contains fish. Its been considered livestock and allowed.

                            They are great Colin and you are doing a stellar job, but perhaps you should put your grafting/handiwork in the What You are Doing in the Garden Today and not the Weather Thread. ;)
