it is a lovely bright and breezy start here and was only 18c.

T'other Half took all the darker wall tiles off yesterday and started replacing them so will continue today. It is looking great and he is doing a stellar job.

Love that! I have had convertibles (called cabriolets here) since I was in my early 20s and had a Fiat Spyder. I had two in the UK, one for 20 years.

      Good day
It is cloudy but already 72f 20c. The guessers say the clouds will clear out with the exception of a pop up thunderstorm here and there.

I'm taking some fresh baking to a picnic which will start at about noon today. There will only be 7 of us gals because some are on vacay with their kids or whatever but still enough of us left to have some great conversations and laughs.

I have a seminar tomorrow morning and Monday my granddaughters are coming for lunch which will make for some lively days coming up. :)

I hope everyone has a lovely day. We've only got 4 days of July left so let's get the most out of them!

      Cheers :coffee:

Decided go and visit my favourite city , out of our 2 local ones, and see it through the eyes of a tourist. No shopping was allowed !!
:nonofinger::heehee:. And no extra expenses ....this was a test of how you can have an enjoyable time while learning about your locality ( that over time gets taken for granted) without having to spend money.

Did a fair amount of walking so feeling a tad achy now.

Hubs received his new passport today....the whole process only took 10 days ( the first day was just taking the pics.:heehee:).Mine is also now in the post too so should arrive tomorrow or Saturday.

Sorry Vicky just realised that I didn't answer your question....yes this was his British passport that he was renewing..he has both.

            Morning all.:)

            How are you?

Feeling a tad achy this morning after all the walking yesterday. But it was worth it:biggrin::dbgrtmb:

Off soon to hop on the bus to go over to see my brother. He's still feeling pretty wiped out from his recent bout of Covid.

Hopefully I will get round to doing the laundry on my return this afternoon...I try not to do such chores at the weekend if at all possible.:dbgrtmb:

            Have a lovely day.

It is a lovely sunny breezy/gusty day out there and is forecast such all day.

Upsy, have a safe journey to see R and I hope he is more chipper ... and look after those joints!

Think it will be a slow day here as J's back is playing up. He didn't do anything yesterday. Also, he got a call from the hospital saying the MRI is off for a week as now they won't have a Doctor/Anaesthetist available at that time now!

                Good day
The guessers say that this lovely sunny start to the day will be continuing all day and we will go up to 81f 27c with humidity making it seem a bit hotter.

Edit : All in red below is not going to happen today because I just realized I have a seminar to attend this morning! Too much else to do today! -where is the "cross out" option?

With that in mind, I'm going to make a spaghetti sauce using the sun oven so that I will have meals partially ready for when the cooler evenings start. I use my sauce not only for spaghetti but also in my lasagna.

It is our Civic Holiday long weekend and because it is not a statutory holiday, only about 50% of companies provide the day off for their workers but my sons work for generous employers and will get Monday off.

My youngest boy, Darryl, is popping in this morning before he and his family go off on a camping trip and I have some things for them to take to make their long weekend more fun. And Jim, the oldest boy, is bringing his two youngest girls around on Monday for lunch and games. I don't know why I call them "boys" as they are both closer to 50 than 40!

I am looking forward to puttering and figuring out where I'm going to put the last of the perennials that I have been nurturing. I believe most of them are mature enough to get kicked out of the greenhouse now.

                Cheers all :coffee:

Hello there everyone I hope you've all planned yourselves a relaxing weekend.

Not doing too much myself except for:cry3:...ditching some of our plants including those that have finished flowering but their remaining seedheads were providing a bit of architectural structure in the borders.

Rightly or....more likely wrongly I am of the thinking that anything creating unnecessary roots in our extremely dry borders need removing to give the remaining plants a better chance at surviving.

So that is my plan over this weekend. I am gutted and we will undoubtedly have gaping empty spaces in our boders, this is definitely not going to be the summer garden I had planned.
Our water levels are very low and this is very clear to see from our nearby lovely chalk stream River Itchen...very worrying.

One thing I have come to appreciate is the gorgeously lush greeness of our country , everything at the moment is very strawlike....so missing all our green lawns and surrounding green fields.

                  Come back rain..all is forgiven!!

                  Enjoy your weekend.

Good morning all, another grey wet weekend here, but thank God it’s weekend , electrician was meant to be doing a quote for us yesterday but didn’t even turn up, my hubby finished earlier too, so we’ve crossed him off our list as he’s done it before, more looking at bathroom tiles this weekend and pricing up, ho and picking my mum up in half an hour, looking at mother of groom outfits. Upsydaisy is your brother on a Tonic, Covid wiped me & my hubby out too, the Tonic helped a lot, hope he’s feeling himself soon.
                    Have a lovely day all:spinning:

Lori, sounds like a grand weekend for you and family ... enjoy!

Upsy, it doesn't sound like a grand one for you but enjoy the other moments. xx

T'other Half wants to finish the one end of the wall today and I will tend to my seedlings and plantlets which are all coming along well.

Weather should be a little more pleasant today at 28c.

No @Flumpy he's on a cocktail of drugs anyway and although 'tonics ' are pretty harmless, we wouldn't and don't believe in self prescribing for him as his fortnightly injections are based on the amount of stuff already flowing around inside his body.
He can't afford to have that balance interfered with unless by his medical team.

                          Lucky you ,enjoy your rain!

@Upsydaisy if the plants have finished flowering could you not cut the leaves off and still enjoy the seed heads, they'd be dying back anyway so wouldn't take up much moisture from the soil.
And you'll also still be able to see them flowering next year
