Voilàààà....the first flowers opened today

 

Well done, my seeds germinated in less than three days.

 

That's excellent! Very fresh seed.....
One of the cuttings that I did from 'The Twig' has rooted, two more are healthy enough but no roots yet

 

@noisette47 lovely, but can you get close enough to sniff it? I chucked out my seed raised ones when they finally flowered after 7 years and had no perfume! And they weren't as pretty as yours!

 

There's the rub, @CarolineL They're 2.5m up, so no chance I wanted a 'tree' like the ones in Goa. As it had produced two main stems, one got chopped at 1m and is now sprouting new growth, so should have the best of both worlds
It's pretty fragrant on the terrace in the evenings....Jasmine sambac, Cestrum nocturnum, Datura and Polianthes all battling it out

 

Yeah not sure what they are though? look like cress atm partly my fault, left them in the airing cupboard too long, so a bit leggy .

 

I was battling the dreaded RSM and getting nowhere, so i got rid of my plants, kind of wished I'd kept them now.

 

I'm surprised you didn't opt for predator control. It seems to be the most effective way to deal with RSM and at least it's available in UK I have to make do with wasps here. They're doing a fine job of clearing up the woolly scale on the citrus, too, but it makes picking the fruit interesting

 

RSM predators, I tried that very expensive option for a few years, wonderful for places like Kew and big commercial greenhouses but they never wipe out the bugs, so you need three or four introductions per season and they dont work in the winter.

You cant then spray if you get aphid problems or other less troublesome pests.

They worked but expensive and not effective in the long term.
