Very nice indeed Vicky. I like the spiral trainers for your climbers. :)

Got them from Aldi some years ago. two for a fiver or something. I remember an older Portuguese couple asking me what they were and me explaining in my best Portuguese "para escalar tomates ou plantas" and they were so impressed!

Thank you, it is work in progress. After nearly 25 years we needed an update/modernisation.

Love the night lights Vicky,..am i correct in thinking that you being located out of town,..when one would step outdoors with no light turned on it would be near pitch black?,..those lights would certainly be a good mood enhancer,..oh its pitch black when i step outside :)

Exactly the opposite Philip. For some reason every old house has its own personal lamppost ... ours is just inside our gate!

Old photos, but you can see it behind the Almond tree in the first photo and lighting the Almond at night in the second. Now it is all overgrown and hidden by the Callistemon and Jacaranda.

Hi Vicky,..i sure guessed wrong about the lights,..Portugal is far more advanced than here,..were i to walk North of the house for just 5 mins,..or West and South there are no lights along the road,..just the private light from the odd house,..i remember so many times when carrying a torch and the battery died to be suddenly left in pitch black,..walking into trees even though my arms were stretched outwards :wallbanging:

Thanks Philip. I am just the Designer and Flora Expert ... J does all the work for which I am eternally grateful.

The "trunk" like stems is the Iochroma cut back allowing the Plumbago to meander through it.

The wee black cat is openwork plastic and I thought a bit of fun!

Ballustrade colums have been painted grey and put back in place. The three pots contain Mandevilla, red either side, white in the middle. I've had the red ones (in those pots) since 2008. The one on the right is climbing up the Hibbertia scandens.

With the slightly cooler weather here my Hibiscus rosa-sinensis are all budding up nicely. This is a strange one but beautiful that I nutured last year from a 10cm rooting. Today, three separate blooms on 'Pagoda Red' ..

The Hibiscus rosa-sinensis are just young plants but have lots of buds but they seem to bloom one at a time and as they are 'one day wonders' I don't seem to get en masse flowering. Here are the ones in pots this morning ... lots of buds ...

Lampranthus aurantiacus (Orange Ice Plant) doing well in a hot spot in The Courtyard. I did have it at the base of the Avocado but the Avocado liked more water than the Ice Plant and the latter nearly died from drowning so it was moved to the granite slab ...
