And we still have to cope now, the only ventilation in my hairdressers is the small window and back door, we are not geared up for hot weather here like abroad. Glad to hear the NHS is faster now, it was over ten years when I had my MRI scan and then the hospital lost my results so they had to ring where I had it done.

Sorry Michael just read back and seen what your having done, it’s looking good so far :dbgrtmb:

12 December 2014 and I was let out of hospital on Christmas Eve. I was in traction for five days but the Surgeon decided it best to replace as it was the neck of the femur. Then on 13 October 2017 (Friday the 13th) I tripped up the step in the lounge and pushed the stem of the replacement through my femur. Then I had to have my knee replaced and my hip removed for five months and then another replacement in March 2019. Then my balance issues began. I could have handled it all better 20 years ago, but at 74 it is a struggle. :rolleyespink: I am hoping my Cranial MRI and SSEP scan next week help to resolve things. :fingers crossed:

Thanks Flumpy. J just got a call from the Doctor's office asking how it went yesterday and said it could be five days before they get the report.

            Good day
It is sunny and very pleasant. Only 60f at the moment. I had a bit of a fright this morning. While I was waiting for the kettle to boil, I thought I'd just slip down the side of the house and turn on the tap that feeds the planters on the front porch. I nearly trod on a skunk when I got to the bottom step from my deck.

@Flumpy the Dawn soap and scrubbing worked well for the area that I tested. The whole section all looks the same when wet so I've got some sidewalk chalk ready for when I go back to do the rest. I'll outline the stains so I can find them when everything is wet and the chalk doesn't wash away just with a rinse. Bet the neighbours are going to wonder if I've lost the plot when I first start drawing. Maybe I'll switch up colours as I go along. :heehee:

Granddaughter and I will be starting her dress this morning. Yesterday, we traced out the pattern in her size so now she has her own template. Today we cut fabric and she learns the serger.

Have a wonderful day everyone. We haven't got much of summer left so let's get every bit of good out of it.

            Cheers :coffee:

:wow: It’s hot out there, I’ve been staying in more than out.

what’s the fabric like for her dress ? Your a woman of all trades Lori ;), I’m guessing your driveway is quite big? Have you got a jet wash?.

                  Good morning everyone.:)

Phew!! Another warm one is on the cards. :phew:

I've had a sleepless night due to escapee horses walking up and down our lane in search of grass!. I've been keeping an eye on them all night and made a phone call about 30 mins ago to the owners . A couple of early morning dog walkers came across them and are panicking a tad, so I called out to them to just leave them be as they won't wander far as they are just in search of grass and that they have been contentedly grazing all night on the verges. The owners have now arrived.

I really do love this warmth, but I'm just not good at sitting around and keeping out of the garden, it's driving me nuts!!:wallbanging:

Perhaps I should try sleeping during the daytime and then getting on with various tasks throughout the night...hmmm that's a thought.

I've even finished all my backed up library books and am now having to wait a couple of weeks for the next in the series to become free, I've reserved it..:dbgrtmb:

And the ice cream is all gone .. we're also down to the last ice lolly and the lager supply is rapidly dwindling.. We're definitely not going grocery shopping this week!:nonofinger:...extreme heat+ the school holidays, not a good mix!!:yikes:

                  Oh woe is me!!!

Oh and the lettuce has almost finished...and I adore lettuce , cucumber and salad cream sandwichs.

Upsydaisy might be extinct by next week. :roflol:

                  Have a good day folks.:biggrin::SUNsmile:

It is lovely and fresh out there, it's months months since we have been a low of 16c, good for sleeping.

Upsy, don't they put hay bales out for the horses like in the winter? Yes, you can do things in the garden at night like @shiney , makes sense. ;) J occasionally has a bowl of ice cream after dinner and had some on Tuesday but we don't eat it in the day and don't buy ice lollies. We both drink copious amounts of water in the heat ... funny, I never drank water before we came here. Keep cool.

J finished the edge of The Wall yesterday so will finish the tiled ledge today. I plan on planting some Adenium obesum seeds which came yesterday. I didn't have any oomph to plant them then.

Have a great day one and all and keep out of the sun/heat.

                      Morning Vicky.

Yes fortunately sleeping is OK for us too as we can leave every single window open upstairs, so it's rarely an issue..apart from last night!! We also have overhead fans that are incorporated in our lights but have hardly ever used then.....if they go on now there will be a dust shower!!

The horses were very guilty looking as they were walked back up here to their original field after their nightime adventure!!:heehee:

All 3 owners who have horses up here are very attentive to them and they are all very well cared for. They are fed well and additional back up food is supplied but obviously some things like hale bales are now in very low supply, they are normally not required at this time of year!! In fact the head groundsman is usually out in the surrounding fields now harvesting supplies for this coming winter.....but there is nowt to gather so ,as in most parts of the country, there is great concern for how they will be able to feed livestock this coming winter.:noidea:

We usually have a tub of ice cream in the freezer to accompany our fruit , we eat it when its fresh....and to be honest apart from making plum jam I'm not into cooking it down or making puddings to freeze....so ice cream is our choice during the summer.:dbgrtmb:

I also like the occasional ice lolly in the summer too, I only have ones made from 100% real fruit, I always made my own from fresh fruit and yoghurt before our brood all fledged..our eldest and his girlfriend demolished a few recently went they came down for the weekend.

I love water...really icy cold, and drink a lot of it even during the winter. I do however always start and end my day with a large mug of hot water as recommended to my Mum by her Consultant, she had kidney problems, as it flushes the system out.:blue thumb:

When I had my op on my ' waterwork tubing' a few years ago I had to list my daily fluid intake and my Surgeon was most impressed apparently.

                      :beer::Wino::cheers:

                      No...only joking it wasn't this kind..honest!!

                        Hi Upsy

I was out for an hour and planted my seeds and watered my little seedlings/plantlets ... then sat with filtered sun on my face (under the cane Alpendre) for the rest of the time. I am in now but J is still out having finished the wall edging now doing the tiled ledge ... he is in the shade at this time of day.

[IMG] :loll: I didn't think when I said you could garden at night!!!!

I guess the horses thought the grass was greener on the lane. :rolleyespink:

Your frozen fruit and yogurt lollies sound yummy. I have frozen pots of yogurt. I must admit I am not keen on icy foods, although it doesn't bother my teeth.

All our ceiling fans also have lights. Currently I am in the lounge with the fan on. It is the 'cool' room as it only has one wall to the outside to the West.

Have a good day sitting on your lovely verandah. Hugs, Vxx

                            Good day
It is another lovely sunny day and the guessers are saying it will only go up to the high 70's F. It does not get better than that!

@Flumpy we are making a swing dress out of a light knit. It will be perfect for the start of school.

@Upsydaisy I love ice cream too and icy drinks. I fill my glass with ice and then top up with water. I do not eat ice cream later than 3 p.m. I find if I eat it later, I get cramps in my feet and lower legs and quite inconveniently in the middle of the night. Calcium can do that. Earlier in the day, I pretty much am moving about steadily and the cramps don't get a chance to take hold.

And it sounds like your neighbours' horses were looking for grass of another colour!

@Victoria sounds like you and your J have been really pulling things together and will be finished soon. Here is something to cheer you even more. My country is the worst and yours is the best!

I've got some shopping to do this morning and will probably be back before the girls wake up. Emily has been staying for a few days and my other granddaughter, her cousin, had a sleepover last night.

                            Cheers :coffee:

Good morning everybody, have any of you melted away yet, I hope not! :)

Yes Lori I'm sure the horses thought the grass was greener on the other side of the fence , although it's not the first time they have embarked on a midnight excursion!!

I think it's suppose to be a little hotter today.
                              :phew:

I've got another machine load of washing to hang out to sizzle on the line, it'll be dry within an hour I expect.

I will also video call my brother later this morning too.

I'll go out now and do a bit of deadheading :) and water the desperate ! while it's still a bit cooler.

Keep in the shade and have a super day.

                              :spinning:
