Yes thank goodness!:hapydancsmil: Not good at staying out of the main garden for most part of the day and sitting around in the afternoon in the only titchy bit of shade on our kitchen patio. Can't wait. Makes me appreciated the British weather more ..and makes me miss the greenery, sick of the sight of straw shades everywhere. You certainly don't appreciate things until they're gone.:dbgrtmb:

I also view A Place In The Sun a lot differently now that's for sure!:heehee:

It's still very hot but we have in Wales a weather warning for thunder storms on Monday.
WHY do we need a weather warning for thunder storms for goodness sake ? There have always been thunderstorms, especially after a hot spell.
People are becoming very childish !

25c heading to 34c. The forecast rain is shifting further into the future and plants are dying. I spent a couple of hours in the greenhouse yesterday tidying up the tomatoes and cucumbers, it was over 40c in there. Need to do the same today with the chillies and peppers.

In the winter we will be getting drizzle warnings to add to the frost warnings the snow warnings rain warnings fog warnings.
I could go on but I won't.

              Hi,

I've just driven to the car dealership in 25C with only the fan working in the car; the air con was making a great deal of noise the last time out in the car so I wanted to book it in for repair; I emailed; I phoned; I left call back; I've just visited the dealer to see if this will work as a last resort; it sure was hot in th car.

Returning home I thought I'd switch on the car air con again; life is such a big wind up these days; the air con worked perfectly; the dealer apologised for not returning my email or call back he's on his own working flat out; he's ordering in lots of air con parts and the car is booked in for two days from 12 Sept. I'll still keep the appointment in order to check the air con and to find the cause of the noise which was deeply worrying me. Life can be such a pain. :mute:

              Kind regards, Colin.

15°C overnight but when I got up this morning it was overcast and grey. By 08:00 the sun had come out. It feels really hot today but it is only 20°C however, there is no wind and the RH is 66% with a grumpy face on my weather station.
We have a Yellow warning for thunderstorms for the next two days but with LARGE hail. I don't know what I am most worried about. My car or my garden.

I understand the air con in a car uses up more fuel but having the windows open is also said to use up more fuel.
I've never used the air con in my car, I like the window open. I have it just slightly open even when it rains.

I use air con in the car in winter to clear condensation. Rarely use it in the summer except long journeys in case I feel drowsy.
