31C here now, still able to work on a border as it's still under a tiny bit of shade...but not for much longer. A few very high whispy clouds are on the horizon coming up from the west.

A misty grey start to the day with a slight smirr earlier. The temperature is currently 15°C and RH 86%, but the sun is just starting to break through.
I am intrigued by how many people have air-con on their cars and don't use it. Most failures in air con are leakage caused by underuse. The rotary seals are just that, rotary, and don't seal as well stationary. I am OCD about mpg and when I first got my Volvo I checked the mpg with and without it over several tankfuls. There was no real difference. What variance there was, was lost in the "noise" of the data. I, therefore, used it 24/7 and over 10 years never had to do anything to the system. My current car does not have air-con and I hate it for that reason.

You got me there @Jocko , had to ask my very dear friend Google what 'smirr' was.

Never to old to learn

We don't use ours because of fuel usage...just prefer open windows. A bit like at home, we have overhead fans but don't use them because we like to have windows open , at the moment all the ones on the shady side are but after lunch we have to close them and open the other side up.

I never use my air conditioning in the car, hardly seems worth it, i do very little long runs and when I worked it was a 35 minute journey.
Get into a scorching hot car, turn on a/c drive 2 thirds of the way home before it has any effect so pretty pointless really.
If the car has stood in the sun for hours it doesn't really matter what the air temperature is in the car,it takes a good hour for the seats to cool down.

I look at the outside temperature and the inside temperature and as soon as the outside is warmer than the inside I close all my windows and pull the blinds down on the sunny ones.
Then open up again when it's cooler outside than in.

I looked at it again moving and it is swirling ENW and later today NW so I thought the left-hand blob might get Southern England. When I looked at it earlier it was way further West.

30c with no air movement. It feels slightly down on yesterday's temperature. Max today is 32c then getting cooler tomorrow.
