    Good day
This is the first time today I've been able to get on the forum! I finally had to switch from Chrome to the Edge browser to get here. Very strange goings on!

It is another sunny day and getting quite a bit warmer than anticipated but at least most of the humidity has gone. It rained buckets again last night so my gardens have all quenched their thirst :)

I've got the linens all laundered and replaced in the guest room and ready for the next time someone sleeps over. I did a bit of work outside. Mostly seed gathering and a little tweeking of the bird table. I have made tags out of a clear piece of plastic so that when the flowers die off, I'll know what colours the flowers were. I want to save the tubers of my dahlias and may do the same with some of the 4 O'clocks.

That is really interesting @Victoria. We had one section of Toronto that was "dry" and I really don't know if that ever changed. I guess I should check it out sometime.

@Upsydaisy I hope your batteries are recharging. :)

Cheers :coffee:( I am having a special cuppa PG tips ;))

It has been down all day for me too Lori.
It certainly was like that when I was there in the 60s and 70s and also when we visited in the late 90s. Mind boggling compared with Europe where you can buy it in the grocery store!

Same here too.Looks OK now, I thought I'd see whats what before changing the browser.

Not been too bad all day thanks Lori but I am dozing off a bit now, I've just said to hubs that I'm going up early as I plan to go and see my brother tomorrow.

I can remember having to sign up to join a club in order to get a drink in a bar in Utah back in the 80s, I assume my membership has probably lapsed now.

I also remember a Liquor store in New York where it was all behind bars and it was a bit like a bank with a small window that they passed the stuff through.

            Strange places.

@Flumpy. I lived in Alabama for 14 years. Met J there but he was from Ohio. We married there in 1968. :rolleyespink: I also lived on Long Island, New York, in Connecticut, in South Carolina ... and in Canada! I was born in South Wales but have lived in Beds, Bucks and the IoW.

It was VERY hot in Alabama plus VERY humid, and could be VERY wet and have LOTS of tornados!!! Where J worked was totally destroyed by a tornado in 1974.

I drink Jamesons and Canadian Club with 7-Up. J drinks JD over ice.

Seems like you are progressing with the house how you want it. :dbgrtmb:

I couldn't get on here until this evening, I thought maybe some maintenance was being done to the workings of the site.

I remember 'dry' counties in Wales where all pubs were closed on a Sunday. They're open everywhere these days.
Near here there was a pub built over a county boundary so that half of the building was in a 'dry Sunday' county and the other half in a 'not-dry Sunday' county, so you could get a pint in the half that was in the 'not dry' county and you were not allowed to take it into the 'dry' half of the pub.

Our drizzle wasn't that special @Upsydaisy it only wet the upper surfaces of some leaves. The air was so warm it evaporated as it was coming down.

It's raining here @Upsydaisy but I've got lots to do in the garden so I want it dry :heehee:

Hope you're feeling less tired today xx

                              Good morning everyone ...

The builders are waiting for the new French door for my little extension. The person in charge of the place it's ordered from has been away and didn't leave any instructions for the others. He's home now but he's got covid, so we're still waiting.

The builders are not pleased. They can't knock the kitchen/conservatory wall down because it would leave the kitchen open to the outside.
They could board the 'hole' up but it would be costly and not worth it for a few days.

                              Enjoy your day all
