We can see it clearly through binoculars Upsy and it is definitely woven twigs, Haven't seen an unusual amount of bees, mostly Carpenter Bees. Many, many years ago we had a humongous colony of migrating bees in our shed for a couple of days but nothing like that since. Good thinking though. :dbgrtmb:

I think the one Upsy put up is a wasps nest, not mine.

We once had a huge bees nest in a tree in our garden, so we contacted the local Beekeeping Society and 2 of their members came along in full gear to collect it...much to the fascination of our 3 boys.
Amazingly we never saw it being developed...it just seemed to suddenly appear from nowhere!

Looks like a squirrel's nest to me @Victoria . To me they look like a giant bird's nest with a roof.

The Doves are a possibility then Victoria but would they be breeding at this time of year where you are?

I haven't got a clue. The nest is in front of where I sit in the morning and where we sit in the evening before dinner ... and we watch like hawks. Guess it is 6 or more meters up.

A young Little Ringed Plover, it's amazing how these newly fledged birds will find their way to the wintering grounds in West Africa on their own.

Wonderful selection and brilliant photos, thanks!! My garden full of generally British birds (sparrow, Robin, goldfinch, greenfinch, Blue and Great Tit, Starlings, wood Pigeon, doves, Crows and Magpies) The latter two species had their annual Test Match yesterday, or at least a One Day International. The air was full of fighting feathers and Covid squawking! Battle lines were drawn throughout our little square. There were actually about for innings and the Crows won convincingly! Mind you they didn't keep to the numbers-per-side rule!!
We also became aware of other feathers, white ones, pigeons?? Flying about all over the place!! Usually means cats or birds of prey! We've noticed a small one, we think a 'pet' after the smaller songbirds but can hardly see it attacking the much larger pigeon? So it was thecats!! Just noticed small downy feathers blowing about over in the other side of the house from yesterday's 'match' . Couldn't understand where the white petals on some of my Salvias, had come from!!
Sorry I didn't have a camera or my tablet to hand to record the One Dayer!!
