I am sure that we will all have seen the news that Her Majesty The Queen is gravely ill, with all of the other senior members of her family being called to her bedside at Balmoral.

Whilst I am sure we all send Her Majesty warmest wishes for her to get well soon, there is also a sombre mood across much of the country, as I am sure we also all realise that illnesses for anyone of her age are very serious indeed.

    God Save The Queen

Sad times. I had a lot of respect and admiration for queen Liz. Not because she was the monarch, but because she never publicly faltered. She always came across as very dignified, impartial, and remarkably humble. And she kept going right to the end. It was only two days ago she was accepting Boris's resignation and appointing the new PM.

For most of us, this really is a monumental thing. Of all the changes we've seen in our lifetimes, for most of us, she's been one of the few constants, always queen Elizabeth, always dignified, humble and impartial, and always there.

I guess now she finally gets to rest. May she rest in peace.

We are raising a glass to her tonight.

Isn't it "Long live the King" ? Charles probably needs a bit of help from above , I was hoping the Queen might have named Prince William as King on her death bed.

The Queen has done a marvellous job all these years.
I was kind of hoping Charlie would have been jumped, but I dont think its that easy in reality.

I am not a Royalist but I think she was a very gracious lady. I have a little bowl from the Coronation with paper clips in it. I love that sketch. RIP

This is too sad, here we are often moaning about our aches and pains and there she was still working only 48 hours ago .:love30:

Have to say my eldest sister and I both commented that we thought she looked like she was very near to the end of her long life on Tuesday. Not only could we see it in her face but also in her hands, that was the first thing we both noticed and it reminded us so much of how our Dad looked with his ever darkening hands .

I'm not a royalist either but she served our Country and Commonwealth with such grace and dignity right up until she took her last breathe.
May she rest in peace and happiness with Prince Philip for enternity.
