Windows have been vandalised at the chippy. I don't know where the owner lives but if it's Muir of Ord she'd be wise to think about moving away. It's usually a quiet and friendly place.

Mrs JWK has signed the condolences book at the town hall today.

Mrs JWK said the same thing. Poor chap has just served a record apprenticeship and his Mum's sudden death must have taken its toll.

I never got to see the Queen in person ever. I have been outside Buckingham Palace while she was in residence but she didn't come out to say hello - nor was I invited in for a cup of tea & a couple of biscuits with her. :rolleyespink::sad:

They said on the news that all this travelling is too much for a 73 year old.

I admit that walking up a fairly steep hill could be tiring but he's a fairly fit man and he regularly travels a lot. He'll be fine :blue thumb:. These youngsters don't know what they're talking about :nonofinger: A 'young man' like Charles will get by OK during the coming week.

I've always found it a bit odd and slightly annoying when younger folks decide what is too much for older folk. With the exception of sad cases where someone is losing their cognition through dementia for example, surely the older person knows exactly what they can or cannot do. I guess the only real issue is pride. I get that some people won't admit to struggling, but even then, it's not for others to decide for them that something is too much.

I sometimes wonder if when younger folks suggest something is too much for older folks, they (the younger folks) are really saying it's too much for them. As an example, my dad is the same age as Charles. Sometimes we do some physical work together, often gardening, but recently also a house move. Yes I worry if my dad looks like he's working too hard, but I would only ever say so if I thought he was putting himself at immediate risk of harm. More typically, I just work harder to try to beat him to the most strenuous tasks. No pride is lost because he knows I'm the younger man, and he's doing a cracking job anyway. At least I assume that's what he thinks. Now I think about it, if my eldest son, who is just about mature enough now to know that I'm not a young man anymore, probably does the same with me. Oh dear, now I feel old.

Charlie must be really fed up with church services by now and still more to come.
I find the whole lot totally depressing.

Very much enjoyed watching what I could. She certainly was the most well known person for tons of years on this earth. There will never be another like her ever. I am glad she met with Billy Graham several times. Lots of stories about her are flooding facebook etc. Have to get back to looking at the Crown soon. Same about that other drama, but knowing the media, who knows the real truth.
