Whats Looking Good September 2022

Just had a wander outside in the greyness but liked this view where you can see the Solanum rantonnatii in full bloom over the Jungle Room to the top left and Mandevilla starting to bloom in centre ...

... and the new trellis against the house is covered with Honeysuckle on the right and Ipomoea opening on the left with Salvia farinacea blooming in front as it does year round ...

 

I dug them up and stored them in a paper bag in our lobby and replanted them in Spring. They were fine for a few years but then suddenly they stopped blooming.

@Perki Did you grow it from seed? I have grown Amaryllis from seed on several occasions & it generally took them 4 years to flower for the first time.

Jealous of your Cleome...I had one seedling from 2pkts of seed again this year.
What is most annoying is that I use to have much better success a few years back.

I've asked on here numerous times for others to share how they go about things and have followed all their advice ..but still a massive flop!

I'm not good at admitting to defeat so I'll carry on....even 2 seedlings would be good, I'm not greedy!

Have to say though my one plant this year has done well ( by my standards) and I have kept cutting it right back and it soon shoots back with new blooms, at least I must be doing that bit right.

 

No bought bulbs, nice big bulbs as well, i am for to impatient to grow bulbs from seed the nerines were probably going to get the chop this year if no flowers . I have 3 large clumps around the garden bought from home and bargains cheap they've never had them in since.

I adore Rudbeckias...which one is that beauty @Sheal . My aim this year was for more Dahlias ( from seed) now have over 30, next year I plan to increase the Ruds. I had an elderly one that sadly went to the great compost heap up above this year.

 

I think these are Conophytums.


Crinum powellii. Its very late, it nearly died back in the summer.


The Brug was thrown up under the apple trees as it hated the hot summer, decided to flower now, but I cant move it.

4 o'clock, no I think it was 1 pm.
