You've been making bread @CanadianLori, that's nice. I want to try it this winter.
I remember when I was small my mother used to send me to a little shop called 'The Don' to get a pennyworth of yeast for making bread (I don't know how much that would be in our modern money but hardly anything I should think)
They used to put it in a cone-shaped paper bag. I hated the smell The home-made bread was lovely though.
I hope your hands are better.

Well I feel fed up today so I'm going to go out. I'm going to drive to our near-by town (3 miles) and catch a bus to somewhere, but I don't know where yet ... it depends which bus I see first
Bella is sleeping in the shed and will hopefully be there all day so I don't have to worry about her
I find I have to worry about someone. It used to be my parents, then it was Beryl (late partner) and now it's Bella ... and the plants ... I worry about the plants
I must stop babbling now, I tend to ramble on since being on my own

It is cloudy and chilly again. I'm still in shock that the guessers got it right!

Thank you everyone for asking after my hands. They are still a ways from being healed but I am going in the right direction. Troweling on hand lotion and wearing latex gloves seems to be helping.

@Victoria I had trouble with a new med I was taking for my stomach and it wasn't until I had blood tests showing severely low salt levels that I switched. To something that gave me a different bad side effect. I landed up going back to my original med - which has been banned due to a cancer link scare. Turns out the original med should never have been banned up here as the medication produced here never used the cancer causing component! You might want to ask for an alternate before suffering too long and without good reason!

@Michael Hewett I believe worrying is not a good thing unless it encourages creative thinking to help solve the basis for it. Oh, and I bake bread at least once a week. It is the sourdough that has always been a challenge where I failed miserably. Imagine my silliness at worrying if a loaf of bread will rise properly

@Upsydaisy you're starting to sound like a true wanderer. It's a good way to discover new things

I best get on with today's work. Slather hands, put on gloves, sew, iron, sew

Yes I had a nice bus ride there and back. I found a 'Range' and bought some bulbs which I hope to plant later in the week

Aww bless you Michael, it really is worth the effort to make yourself go out..even for just a couple hours and especially more so on ' blue days'. A coffee in a cafe and people watching can also work at lifting the spirits too. What about going to the cinema ?, my friend and I go during the day and we see a lot of people on their own, my friend had gone on her own at times as her hubs is like mine and not too keen. I would happily go on my own too .xx

Oh, I am so delighted. We have freecycle here too and I had posted about some bobbins that I had bought and that did not fit my machines - 6 reusable clear boxes with a dozen bobbins in each and a lady is coming to pick up early this evening. Then I saw an offer for two wooden, backless stools - bar height. They are currently painted dark brown and I plan to paint them in bright colours and use them next year for plant stands. I pick them up tomorrow morning

 

I don't know of any cinemas near here @Upsydaisy, I'm not one for films anyway but I often go out for a coffee and sometimes I meet a friend
I go on buses because there are other people on them and sometimes they smile or say something, even if it's only about the weather, but it helps me feel as if I am part of the world

Hoping that everyone is well today and looking forward to the day ahead.

Well after yesterday's weather it proved that the forecasts we're given can't be trusted at all.
So the laundry that has just be done will get hung out and whether it dries will rely on good old pot luck !!
I have to pop over to my sister's at some point today so it will probably rain during this period and I won't be able to rescue it off the line.

That's a shame because you immerse yourself in a great film and the big screen experience is one great way to get lost in one!!

We travel mostly by bus now as I have been able to convince hubs that it is more relaxing for him.....so far so good. It's amazing now you soon get to know people on different routes too as you say isn't it.
Mind you convincing him to travel by train up to our sons has taken a bit longer .....and hitting Waterloo next Friday during rush hour might be pushing peace and matrimonial harmony to it's limit!! Getting nervous now, but trying not to show it...I won't mind at all but he loves a quite life and it may prove too much so I'm constantly got my finger pushing the 'it will be fun ' button at the moment.

It is bright and breezy and 17c with a fine day ahead.

J took my car for its service/MoT yesterday. It is just 6kms up the road. I think he plans to do a bit of food shopping today. I am hoping to get a plant from Spain today so J will check the PO. Other than that, nothing planned.
