Well the weekend is almost here and I can't wait to see our brood....well 2 of them.

Just have to pack a couple of changes of clothes and then we're good to go..

There are a lot of rail strikes happening on Saturday so I expect the trains to be fairly busy today...we couldn't have picked a worse weekend to be travelling up to London really!! Hubs gets a bit stressed at the best of time when travelling so it should be double fun!!!

Never mind wherever happens I won't let it spoil my weekend that's for sure.

It is 48f 8c and the guessers are saying that the slide will start. Tonight it will be 34f 1c . Whatever annuals out there that aren't dead yet, will probably be so by tomorrow morning.

@Upsydaisy I quite liked Waterloo. It was quite interesting as it seems just as much a "crossroads" as an international airport.

It is recycle day and the bins are out at the kerb. I keep adding to them during the day and until the truck arrives to empty them. I guess it's a determination to really clear out!

@Victoria it's always nice to sit and have a casual meal with friends and J's friday routine probably makes it very relaxing.

I've got lots to do to around here so I best get in gear.

I love Waterloo, my sister and I use to sit in one of the wine bars there and people watch...making guesses of where people were going to / coming from.

I love the hustle and bustle of it all. Not so for my hubs though.

It is a lovely day here but I didn't have a good night so will ease myself through the day but want to clear up my little pots out front.

 

Hi all, it’s not been a nice week at all, four staff down due to Covid, one of our staff came back from Mexico on Monday, she came in work feeling unwell unbeknown to me but did a test Monday night and it was positive , unfortunately the damage is done, so we are very behind at work, it wouldn’t surprise me if I test positive by Tuesday as they we coughing and sneezing all around me.

It is sunny and chilly 42f 5c but at least it warmed up from last night!

@Flumpy I'm all for flogging the vacationer. Shame on them for knowingly coming in while feeling unwell whether it was something else or Covid. They should be suspended without pay!

I've got laundry started and will be vacuuming the second floor this morning. All of this during my Hilda Ogden phase. I've got my rutabaga chopped and ready to pressure cook because I want to prepare it today and then simply reheat for tomorrow night's supper. I'm cooking for 12 adults and want to get a head start

I may even start the wood oven and begin cooking the potting soil. I bake it for 1/2 hour and there are probably 20 "loads" or so process. This feels like the rush in the spring, only in reverse!

Best get a move on. Cheers
