Amazon ... yet again!!!

Today I received a yarn order from Germany. It came in two lots, one in a big heavy duty, folded over brown paper sack. That was okay, the other came in this box ...



... duly packaged with scrunched paper to protect it!!!

I know they may be saving the Oceans from plastic, but what about the Forests, particularly The Amazon.

 

How strange Woo. We have two local veterinary practices and they both seem fine, one definitely is as it's the one my sister uses.

Perhaps they have caught a bug from our own GPs.

 

What they charge us and what some of the clinical staff get paid will be significantly less.

I know there was a report early this year by "The Competition and Markets Authority" regarding the buyout of, Quality Pet Care by the CVS Group, which owns Pets for Homes and other veterinary service's. The buy out raised competition concerns as in 2013 independent veterinary practises accounted for 90% of the UK market, which is now down to just over 40%.

Medivet was purchased last year by a Luxembourg based private equity firm, CVC Capital. As these companies by out the competition, they then can literally charge what they want.

 

I always found vets, like car repairers, always like an insurance job.

The computer screen always had at top, "insured", when I used to take my dog.

 

Vets come and go, they will also move around a lot to were the money is

Is it just me , or can anyone understand what that Robert Peston bloke is ever talking about on ITV.
It just comes out in some kind of non understandable waffle with stops and starts all in the wrong places.
How he ever got were he is is beyond me, he's just hard work.

 

My moan today is about the great British pubic.

I attended a video conference today with colleagues across France, Belgium and Germany. A whole section of it was dedicated to the energy crisis. All over Europe our colleagues are really knuckling down. They're not whining, they're just doing everything they can to reduce their energy demands, both company operations and personal. Except our UK arm. While our French arm is installing solar panels on factory roofs, looking at the energy demands of every piece of machinery, looking at the manufacturing processes to squeeze more efficiencies out, turning the heating down, and generally doing everything they can not just because of the current prices, but because they've committed to do better than the Paris agreement targets, here in the UK we've got stickers. Yes, stickers. Above every light switch we now have a sticker reminding us to turn the lights off when not in use. That's all.

 

Is that because some people can't think or don't want to think for them self's

 

We were brought up to acknowledge all gifts with a Thank You note too Shiney. It was always the first thing we had to do the day after receiving one... write a letter and walk to the post box to post it. I send a gift of some money to a friend's child nearly 5 weeks ago....still haven't heard a word from the daughter or Mum.

 

I totally agree and was brought up the same way. I can't comprehend not thanking someone for something they have given, done or said. My T'other Half says I sometimes say it too much!
