    Cat Flower.jpeg Good morning all.

What a full day you had Upsy. I couldn't cope with all those buses!!! I am an impatient waiter too! Buses and trains are always timely here ... not that I have ever been on either. So pleased you finally found the gift you were seeking ... wasn't it a sort of terrarium/bottle garden?

J's Friday lunch with John. J always has a giant home-made hamburger with cheese and bacon and John fish, chips and mushy peas ... washed down with beer of course! J will try to finish the paneling before he goes.

    Enjoy your day.

      Morning Vicky.

Yes it certainly was a full day. On the whole our buses (and those yesterday) were on time...hubs is just a very impatient traveller...drives me nuts at times.:wallbanging:

I was all set to go on my own to get the present while he went in the opposite direction to the hospital but he decided that he would come with me!!

I think as we (;) hubs in particular) age I now would prefer to travel alone.....:roflol: .I am definitely more chilled and find it's his fretting that stresses me out rather than any delays that occur.

I am quite content to people watch or read my book, we have no real hurries in life anymore.

      No it's a snuggly jacket.....seemingly in great demand!!:heehee:

      Enjoy your day.xxx

        Hi Upsy :imphrt:

I am with R on the travel front! :blue thumb:

Where did I get bottle garden from? I thought you put a pic up. A fuzzy jacket? Bed jacket? Pic please.

John has cancelled lunch as he is not well. J will still go get his hamburger and bring home and we will lunch outside.

Vicky I got the Bottle Terrarium for little Sis last month..older Sis's birthday is in 3 wks time. We only buy for each other when it's a significant birthday .

As you know she can't move fast and has sorted out a lot of knitting projects to do over the coming winter months, mainly for her grandkiddies . I decided on this because your arms are free and it also a has pocket in the front that you can slide a hot water bottle in for additional heat.:dbgrtmb:
She's like me and stays up until gone midnight too...so hopefully she'll enjoy this on a cold winter's evening and especially more so now with all our rising energy costs.:fingers crossed:

I've tried it on and it is gorgeously soft and snuggly .

Sorry to hear that John's not well, nothing serious I hope.:fingers crossed:

Ooh, I like that ... and I like that colour actually. An outdoor item here.

Not sure, J didn't say, could be his MS. I have sent him a 'huggy' card.

                Good day
It is 44f 6c and cloudy but the guessers say the sun will peep through a bit this afternoon. No matter what it does, I plan to get most of my annuals pulled. Some of them still look okay but it will be freezing next week. Our "everything" day is tomorrow. Meaning rubbish, bulk items, recycle and yard/garden waste bag pick up. It is usually biweekly and on a Friday but Monday was a holiday so everything got shifted forward a day. I'll put out the yard waste tomorrow instead of waiting until the plants have gotten frozen, then mushy.

And I'll be using my wood oven to finish baking whatever soil will be going back into pots.

@Upsydaisy that looks very cozy. I'm sure she'll appreciate it :)

                Cheers all :coffee:

                  Good morning everyone. :)

Well surprise, surprise I didn't get to do what I had initially planned to do yesterday...the day just ....disappeared! :noidea: Housework took up most of the morning, with a couple of tea/ coffee breaks thrown in too. A video chat with my eldest sister after our midday meal lasted quite a while until her cat decided to be sick on her rug. That took us to 3 pm and by the time we had our afternoon coffee the light was dwindling as it had been a mostly cloudy day . So that was it really, not very exciting at all.

Hopefully today will be more productive out in the garden, the rain that is predicted isn't due until mid afternoon.:fingers crossed:

Hope all your Saturday plans go well .

That is a lovely Ipomoea (Morning Glory) Upsy. I have seeds for it ... but hey didn't look quite like that!!!

I had very little sleep last night. I don't know why, just snoozes here and there so I feel tired. I got to thinking about one thing ... which led to another ... and another ... Like looking up a word in the Dictionary ... which leads you to another and so on. Well nowadays online.

J will do the finishing touches on The Baffa paneling today.

Where is @Michael Hewett and @Flumpy?

                      Morning Vicky :).
Oh no! So sorry to hear that you're not sleeping well, that's horrid when that happens and your brain seems to go into overactive mode. I tend to get up for an hour and read a couple of chapters from my current book and then go back to bed..more often than not that does the trick.:blue thumb:

The end is definitely in sight now with the Baffa, you and J must be well pleased...time to relax and enjoy it all now. :dbgrtmb:

Not sure what's happened to Michael as he usually does pop by a couple of times at least in a week.
Flumpy has been by this week as I've had a few 'likes' from her. She often doesn't post during the week but drops by at weekends.

I'm mid way through writing you an email.....but you know how long that takes me!! :roflol:. Expect it by this afternoon...:fingers crossed::fingers crossed::whistle:

Have a good day and put your feet up and take it easy. :grphg:xx

                        Good day
The sky is blanketed in dark grey clouds and it is quite chilly. Being everything day, I dragged the recycle bins, the bag of rubbish, an ugly picture (bulk rubbish), my brown garden waste bags and my green food bin to the kerb, in the dark and while still in jammies.

I'm about to put my first load of laundry into the dryer and then jump into the shower to clean myself up.

Yesterday I got all of my potting soil baked and back in pots to reuse next year. All of my annuals that were out in the gardens are pulled too. There were a few snapdragons left in flower so I cut those flowers for the breakfast table before pulling them. It's going to rain so I'm going to get out there and hose off the deck before it starts so that the water won't make big blotches of mud out of spilled soil.

@Upsydaisy I have my housework to do today so I am 24 hours behind you!

@Victoria I'm sorry to hear you had a restless and sleepless night. I was lucky to sleep heavily but was also treated to some really weird dreams. Maybe that is what pumpkin pies does to one!

@Flumpy I hope you've got more staff coming in than in recent days. You need a break!

@Michael Hewett I've lost track of you and your wonderful greenhouse project. How goes that?

                        Cheers :coffee:

                          Happy Sunday everybody. :)

I can remember when Sundays were blissfully peaceful, calming and relaxing days . Everything seemed to come to a halt, no shops were open in fact hardly anything was open at all !!

It was a true day of family time and recharging the body's batteries in readiness for the week to come. The roads were very quiet ,calmness was everywhere.
I'm sure it was like that .....or am I just remembering days gone by through rose tinted glasses ? :roflol:

Now it seems there is no escape from the hustle and bustle of life.
That was the only good thing about lockdown .....everything came to a halt....... and not just the traffic and local airport !!

You had no option but to take it easy.....the health and wellbeing of all would be so much better if those Sundays returned......I can but dream of those idyllic Sunday's of yesteryear..

On that note I wish you all a relaxing Sunday.

It is overcast today so we may have some light showers later which are always welcome.

I slept well last night, at least eight hours with one pee (chichi, pronouncecd she-she) break. so I feel refreshed. I am sitting up in bed having tea and looking at the grey sky but see the Plumbago and Ginger Thomas so it is lovely.

Sundays are quiet here, but most days are anyway. Portugal is still a family-orientated country and Sundays the restaurants are heaving with all the family. The big stores are busy too as for some that is the only day they can shop.

                            Have a peaceful one.

Taken last month, not very clear through the screens ...

                              Morning Vicky.:)

                              Love the pic!!

Yes I suppose it must be said that it's very quiet where we actually live too, apart from more walkers and cyclists most of which are often parents teaching their children how to ride.

I was just recalling last Sunday when we had to get a coach back to Winchester......it just totally surprised me it was like rush hour mayhem!!!:yikes: I dread to think what Southampton is like on Sundays, especially around the West Quay area.!!

Restaurants and cafes are always choc a block here it seems , whatever the day.:)

Surely people can shop on another day.....most get 2 days off a week I think.

Oh well ....Times have changed and often not for the better.

                              Have a good day.xx

                                Not necessarily here.

I am about 3.5 meters from the window and the shrubs are two meters away on the other side (a total of about 18 feet).

Isn't it funny that in difficult times, restaurants and pubs/bars are always busy?
