And now it looks like the Triple Lock is done for.

The way the country is heading, I'm genuinely thinking of giving up working. It seems there's little point. From April I'll be flat broke while people on benefits get all the help. And when I get to retirement age I'll bet state pension will be worth nowt. Better off getting a paper round. I have company pensions, but they won't sustain me when the pound is like the Zimbabwe dollar. Might be just as well to refuse to work, and as soon as I can access my work pension just draw the lot and blow on travel or something, saving just enough back to get into some sort of extreme sport with a high mortality rate so I can go out laughing.

Taken from a website- a guarantee that the state pension would not lose value in real terms, and that it would increase at least in line with inflation

the triple lock, so payments rise by whatever is higher: prices, average earnings or 2.5%.

So if prices rise by 15% and average earnings by 10% then pensions go up by 15%. If prices and wages rise by zero pensions go up by 2.5%.

Now a new home secretary. I reckon it was a deliberate 'mistake' to use as an excuse to depart.

Next we just need a new prime minister. Preferably from a different party but if not, as much as it pains me to say it, Boris would be better than what we have now.

Does anyone remember Boris's last words.;)
Much as I think he was an idiot he was slightly less of an idiot than the idiot we have now.

The joke for me was about the book that he said was being written about her premiership. Out for Christmas. Then he asked her if that was the release date or the title. I laughed out loud.

I even found mockery of Liz Truss on the science channel of a German physicist.

He's not an idiot.....he's a rather clever politician pretending to be an idiot. It served him well.

Lizz Truss has just announced her new cabinet reshuffle.
