    Hi
    I consider myself to be an amateur gardener in both the modern sense of the work - keen but a bit clueless - and the original meaning - for the love of (amateur derives from the latin Amour, meaning love/love of.) I'm hoping to pick up loads of tips, etc to improve my knowledge, not to mention lowering the death rate of the plants in my garden. My latest clueless conundrum involves gladioli, so I'll be posting my question in the general plant bit when I've taken a photo, as a picture speaks a 1,000 words.

      Welcome to the forum.

      You might need to plant fresh gladioli corms each year depending on your location, they don't always overwinter well.

            @Jocko
            I love gladioli too; I've got about 100 in the garden. None are still in flower, and I'm amazed you have one still flowering seeing as how you're near Edinborgh, which is way north of Merseyside.
            I too have purple glads, as well as white, apricot, yellow and red. But my fave is this one; I didn't even know I had this type until it bloomed. I really should start keeping some kind of record. IMG_5491.JPG
