I'm glad to hear from you. I hope the medication is helping manage the hernia and that it won't cause you too much pain in the future.

The problem arose because i just could not wait for someone to help me lift my new Aquarium from the car into the house,..two staff in the shop helped put it in the car,..anyway as it is only 16kg heavy i presumed i could manage that,..placed one hand right back bottom,.. and the other
left near side,..however going through the hall into the sittingroom it was oops,..hernia went walkabout,..despite this i refused to drop the tank until i had it in on its stand,..one learns by mistakes :wallbanging:

      The new tank.

Lovely fish tank, I remember you said the old one leaked.
It is difficult to do things that require help if you have nobody to rely on. I usually try to drag or push heavy/awkward things. I am thinking of buying a trolley so that I can bring bags of compost from the car to the garden.

It looks great Philip, but what a price to pay!

@Michael Hewett You need to get that trolley. You too Philip. Jim has one as he has a bad back and he has found it priceless for all sorts of jobs.. Got his from Aldi. It collapses too for storage.

It could have been worse, at least you didn't have to drag this lump all over. This is my aquarium! IMG_20221105_091241_HDR.jpg

Hi Michael,..ah yes the old one did leak which was down to someone i told not to try moving it,..he did and the leak started within a few days,..the weight of water suddenly hitting one end like a wave weakened the seal,..i could have repaired it but would always be aware of it being flawed,..this new one is curved at the front,..has build in filters which are very easy to clean without unplugging anything,..the built in lights can be controlled by my phone,..early morning light,..noon and evening.

Hi Vicky,..Jim was wise to get a trolley,..it was you that urged me to get one :),..mine is in most use bringing in bags of logs plus it fits in throughout the garden paths.

Ah yes what a price to pay,.. pain and missing you folk :wub2:,..the new tank of course i could not drop it when things went askew,..darn thing cost 386 euro,..i already had the fish doubled up in another tank,..a tad crowded,..and so the urgency.

Yes, my weekly water changes are done on Saturday mornings. I keep tropical. The stocking theme is an Asian community tank, all the fish are (or were until a few weeks ago) from the far East.

I have a solitary 20" giant gourami in there along with Bala sharks, clown loach, Borneo red finned sharks, filament barbs, beardless barbs and denisson barbs. I did have another 120g tank with a chocolate cichlid and a red shoulder severum in (South American), but I got rid of that one and had to put those two in my big Asian tank!

With the filtration sump (just to the side out of picture), it is close to a 400 gallon system, and total weight, when filled, is around the region of 1.7 tonnes. It's just as well it's placed on a thick solid concrete base (the room it's in is a garage conversion).

The hobby started taking over my life, I had multiple tanks, but the cost of running them all due to the spiralling energy costs was insane. So I downsized to just my big tank.

Below is a full tank shot.
