Solved Identification of house plant required.

Could someone please identify this plant which jumped into my trolley in Lidle store this afternoon ??









There are lots of them in the same pot and I am wondering if I should separate them ...

 

Dunno, looks almost like some kind of bean seedlings.

 

It certainly looks like lots of seeds sown into a pot. It has no label but the sign above them in the shop said 'House plants'.
The leaves have no peteoles.

 

Almost looks like most of the leaves a Cotyledons and there are just a few true leaves appearing.

Thinking again if that is the case probably not a legume.

 

Just a wild guess, but the true leaves look vaguely like coffee.

 

Yes, after looking at them again I could see the dried up coat of a seed stuck to one.
I've also seen new leaves appearing and they seem to have petioles.

 

I had a coffee plant once many years ago and yes now you've mentioned it I agree.

 

And I googled 'coffee plant seedlings' and that's what they are ... well

Might be worth separating a few , I'm sure if they are coffee plants they would mature much better one plant to a pot.

In a couple of years you'll be able to roast & ground your own coffee beans!!!

 

I have previously bought a pot like this where there are about 20 coffee seedlings. I split them up and grew on, but found they needed higher temp and humidity than I could give them... But I'm currently trying again!
