Five years working in Expat Contract Law ... got my qualifications based on that. Went to Guinea, West Africa, Have a fantastic photo album.for ten days on business. Incredible. Saw how they brought diamonds out of the ground strip mining. I was based in Aylesbury, Bucks.

Morning! It is sunny and 14c to start the day.

J is going to Lagos this afternoon to buy some equipment so I will accompany for an outing. It is about a 2-1/2 hour trip.

I will have a soak in the bath this morning as I didn't yesterday as I normally do. That is when I wash my hair.

Another week begins ... may it be a good one for all.

@Flumpy I hope your day is going well and you get spare time to work on your CV. Right now is a good time to search about for new employment as I understand there is a labour shortage pretty much everywhere.

@Upsydaisy you're usually here long before me so I assume your wire workers are trying to get the lines of communications repaired. I hope they fix it swiftly!


I don't have much on my to do list which is strange for me. Good lord, maybe I'll get the motivation to go down and do some sorting in the cellar. I've got so much stuff down there which includes mine, my sons', my grandchildren's etc... including a couple of bicycles that I'm thinking I should figure out how to hang from the rafters. Give the muscles a good work out!

Good afternoon everyone.

A bit late today as we had to leave home at just gone 7am this morning to walk into town. Hubs had a medical appointment for 8:15 .
I wandered around a deserted town and walked through the central park , thankfully I found 1 of my 2 favourite cafes open at 8 so enjoyed a warming coffee.


The appointment took longer than expected, well over an hour.

We then decided that since we were in town to pick up a few groceries....well a few ended up a few more than a few so we had to catch a bus back home as the load was quite a heavy one!!

We got back around 12:30.

Quite a grey and damp day , fortunately we missed the heavy downpours during the walk into town ( a couple of miles away) and just had to cope with drizzle.

Just had a phone call from our provider to say that everything is now fixed and we're back up and running. Such good news, it's been a week since we discovered all the various issues.

Pleased you got to town and back safely loaded down with provisions.

We got back 20 minutes ago. Lovely chap from Liverpool, only here for a week to do things around their apartment as they plan on selling. Lots of Brits have since Brexit. It was a nice drive but it was very ominous that way but we got back to blue skies and sunshine and were greeted by Munch coming from The Jungle Room and Van in a big pot.

We've just had another very stormy night, we obviously have internet but as yet haven't be able to check everything else out, including the state of the garden .

I'm off out to meet up with a friend for a coffee & catchup before going to the cinema to see The Lost King. Based on a true story.

Morning all.

The sun has suddenly appeared but we are forecast showers all day which we need.

It is a nothing in particular planned day. I have been doing "free steps", ie, unaided ... only five at a time, turn touching the footboard, five turn, repeat. I have got to 60. I do it in the bedroom as there is a footboard rail (wrought iron bed). I can race around with the walker but must concentrate on the balance unaided as I want to get back to a cane. I can't carry anything with a walker ... or do simple chores like sweeping/mopping.

Enjoy the movie Upsy. As an adult I have never liked going to the theatre.

Good day
It is 38f 2c this morning and going up to 48f. The guessers also say that it will warm up nicely for the end of the week however starting Sunday, we will be going to our "seasonal norms" with the high's will only be about 38f and the lows consistently below freezing. We did get a bonus of warm weather this month so I'm not grumbling.

I have a lot/hate relationship with the theater. The big screen is wonderful but I don't like the many distractions. People checking their phones thinking that they're hiding it by shading it with their hand but the light still glares, candy wrapper noises, etc. etc. So I only go if I will be attending with a group of friends and it is a scheduled "event" for that month.

@Victoria I am glad to hear that your mobility is improving.

Yesterday I actually cut out a top to make and today I will sew it up. I need to rethread the serger and coverstitch to the correct colour of thread first which takes time. I still have several pieces of fabric to use up but am still waffling on what I want to make them into.

Lots of other little things to do so best get going.

Thoroughly enjoyed the film yesterday, she really had to fight to get her voice heard and to get funding for the dig to go ahead. Just proves that ' gut feelings ' are often right.


Vicky the cinema is big and airy and not at all claustrophobic....I too hate small enclosed spaces, have to be desperate to visit our small downstairs bathroom even .

Lori that's the good thing about going in the daytime, there's only a handful of other people there, so no distractions.

Today we're off out early to Southampton as the weather is looking promising We are going to visit an art gallery before having a meal.

Should be an interesting day.
