I like Pansies/Violas and have seeds for a frilly Pansy Viola but haven't had much success in the past.

I find they self-seed in the pots on the balcony railings! I'm always finding the odd plant or two! This year the same happened with Petunias.

Last year I put about 10/12 pots of pure white Petunias all along the length of the balcony railings - I think I watched too many gardening shows last year!:rolleyespink: - to create a "statement"! They certainly did that! Although I tried to deadhead them as much as possible some seeds did form & they germinated in several pots this year with bright red Geraniums in them!

Stunning Balc. I find when I have white next to red (with both Geraniums and Mandevillas), the white go pink.

It didn't matter this year as it was nearing the end of the summer & didn't interfere with my display, which was mostly bright red Geraniums anyway!

Thank you Upsy. Yes, I guess it is, but ours comes after the heat whereas yours arrives after the cold. I have always liked this time of year here.
