What a heart wrenching story about Molly. I am so glad she has a home with you. I love animals but have allergies so I have to take an antihistamine before visiting friends with pets but boy oh boy, do I enjoy getting to pet them when I do that! At thankgiving my granddaughter brought her little dog, Peanut, with her as she had no one to keep an eye on her at home and I had a great time. I don't know if I had more fun with the little dog or my granddaughter!

I'm a good 6 miles from the lake so I don't see open water like yours very often. The downtown on the shore is not one of my favourite spots as the pretense is overwhelming - you know, spelling Old with an E at the end type of thing.

I used be on the water every opportunity I got as a child. My brother and I would go out in his leaky canoe (which we had to empty by getting in the water, treading water and tipping every 1/2 hour or so) on the lake. We never went far from shore. Only about 40 or so feet out where the depth was only maybe 15 feet deep. Good times.

Do your roses need a lot of tending? I'm still toying with the idea of having another go at them.

Thanks for the response Lori,..i had to laugh at your stating you didn't know if you had more fun with Peanut or your granddaughter :).

I can well understand your liking for waterside images,..fond memories of days on the lake in that canoe,..such days will never leave you,..happy enjoyable days.

As for the rose care,..very little in fact,..feed them with a good fertilizer and water them,..then prune them when needed,..dead heading promotes more blooms as well.

Waterside video i made some time back.

Today was a bad day to go doggy walking,.. plus lucky for me and Foxy Molly as well,..i tend to head for The Point,..land jutting out and facing down river,..however my next door neighbour cautioned me not to,..two Pit Bull dogs were on the loose,..they attacked a woman and killed her dog then the dogs headed for the shopping center causing great panic,..very sad incident,..the woman also had a child with her but thankfully the child was not harmed,..that child will have bad memories forever.

Oh gosh that is awful Philip.

I can remember when 2 fierce dogs were on the loose here..it was scary indeed. As our area is surrounded by the lakes, woods and fields they sent 2 Police helicopters to sweep the whole area. They must have been ferocious as the searches went on until dusk. They were caught and put down as we later discovered that they had attacked a child coming home from school.

Hi Upsydaisy,..scary indeed as one would not know where they would appear in your area,..they tend to go for small dogs and children in most cases then adults,..caught and put down was the best result sadly for the dogs,..were they kept well fenced in it wouldn't have happened.

Here they went into the shopping centre and into a shoe shop,..luckily they didn't attack in there,..they were rounded up by the police who gave them back to the owner :dunno:,..hard to understand that,..after attacking the woman and child then killing the dog she had,..it appears these two dogs attacked before and killed a dog,..very slow to act police here in my town.

They are registered as a dangerous breed here. I know it is not the breed's fault, but they seem uncontrollable.

Its a big problem Victoria,..everywhere,..if a person wants to keep a dangerous breed then it should be well fenced in,..if not,.. the owner should be punished,..its in the dogs nature to attack,..i mean the dangerous breeds in particular,.. though non dangerous dogs not properly trained can do great harm as well,..i feel sorry that any dog should be put down because it didn't know better than to attack,..all down to not being trained by the owner,..that reminds me we had a child here who tended to bite people it met :thud:

I did that once in America. Got to the store and going in the doors and happened to look at my feet ... one dark green, one brown, different styles .... I quickly turned around and went back home!!! :rolleyespink:
