@Balc I didn't know your wife was having treatment for her eye, I missed that imformation. However I am glad the operation went well

I hope your plants survive in the baskets @Logan, I have done that in the past and as long as they're in a frost-free place and don't dry out too much they should be fine.

I've been putting my cacti and succulents in the greenhouse. It's FULL ! ...

I continued to shift patio pots, empty the compost out of those that had the annuals in and store the pots with bulbs in one of the nursery areas - heavy work even with a barrow. Then spread the emptied compost on the beds. I've continued with the pressure washing as the pots left a horrendous mess.

Next patio area to attack is where the hardy succulents are. I'll need to move all the pots, pressure wash that area of the patio and put the pots back. :phew:

In between pressure washing stints I have been refilling the bird feeders.

Clear area for broad beans, which have been hardening off this week. Then more dead heding weeding etc.

Went out to see what had been washed away. Crocus are through, Honeysuckle is still in full bloom, Carnations and Pelardoniums are coming out and Black Eyed Susan flowers are still as fresh as when they first came out.

Guess what? I'm still clearing/emptying patio pots, including having now cleared all the remaining tom plants, and spreading the compost on the beds. Lots of worms in them

Now I'm back doing pressure washing. I hope to finish it by Christmas. :heehee:

I went to see my friend Marion and moved a chamelia from the front garden to the back and planted some tulip bulbs but they wasn't very good, they had sprouted too much but see how they grow.

I got on well yesterday afternoon with the pressure washing despite the continuous drizzle and intended continuing today :blue thumb:. I even dug out my old waterproof mountain walking coat so I could continue working in the rain - but it has just this moment started persisting it down!

I'm normally only a fair weather gardener but don't mind pressure washing in reasonable rainfall but I draw the line at stair rods!

Broad beans planted out. Spent most of the time in the greenhouse, cleared out the last of the tomatoes, spread the compost from these around various beds; can now move in there.

Other than watering a few plants in the house I've not done anything. Nevertheless in this coming week I hope to plant out the last bulbs I have to put in. At the rate things are going they'll flower in their bags!!! :roflol:

I grabbed some "reduced to clear" bulbs from Wilko yesterday, without actually looking at the bulbs. The resilience of bulbs never fails to impress, one Crocus had flowered in the bag. :) I doubt these will do much this spring but potted them up anyways on their sides in order not to break the growth. We'll see what happens.

                            crocus2.jpg crocus3.jpg

Prepared hyacinth bulbs looked and felt good, they are now in pots in the garage until about New Year. Found the Amaryllis bulb and potted it up, it has been a three year battle to keep it going and bulking up after a misadventure of nearly rotting to death. Perhaps this year it will flower. :th scifD36:

A lovely little surprise waited in the straggly Sedum pot tucked away under the Rosemary, autumn flowering Crocus is actually forming a flower. They are wispy nondescript little things that look awful after the slightest rain but it's a first for me so worth getting exited about. :)

                            crocus1.jpg

Indoors I replaced the (overly optimistically) "overwintering chillies" with shop bought and home grown herbs in a planter under grow lights. They look good and fresh herbs add a bit of poshness to everyday meals. It's possible that the Chives I dug up from the outdoors herb pot came with the kind of biodiversity I'd rather not have in my kitchen but I'll cross that bridge if I find it. :th scifD36:

In other news, The Niece, 7, has learnt to do a somersault. :yikes:

I lifted my 2 penisetums rubrum / 1 fireworks today see if can save them over winter , divided them as well got a bit carried away so got about 20 plants before I realised I've got far to many. Moved the odd pot in GH I suspect the weather may finish off most of the plants this week .
