Hello in November i planted some chamomile seeds in an area of the garden about 1 square metre. They didnt sprout and instead something else started growing in the area i.e. some form of weed. I now have some partridge berry plants and i was thinking of planting those in the area that the chamomile seeds were sown. Is this a good idea or will it cause problems. I'm working on the assumption that the chamomille will never grow.

I never have much success sowing directly into soil. Instead I sow into seed compost in pots or trays. Chamomile comes up quickly but not at this time of year, wait till the spring and try again in trays, grow on and transplant when big enough.

OK but do you think the seeds that are in the ground will come up? i dont want to put the other plants in just to have chamomile sprouting up in between the berry plant

PS the seeds were sown directly into the soil but some compost was added in

Ah thought maybe you had sown last year, give them a chance, they might germinate next spring when the soil warms up.
