Off out to town to meet up with a friend to go to the cinema to see The Lost King. Based on a true event.

As the weather is looking good today, we are off soon to have a day in Southampton, wandering, having a meal and visiting one of the art galleries.

Just got back about an hour ago after having a great day out. We left at 9:15 with beautiful sunshine and blue skies and fortunately they stayed with us the whole day. However on the way back whilst on the bus the skies darkened rapidly and we had a torrential downpour the drains in the roads couldn't cope and it was like driving through a river!! Thankfully we were back to full sunshine when we got off the bus to walk back down our lane... but....we came across a flooded area and had to wade through it..yuk.

Firstly we enjoyed a walk through one of the city's many parks.

Next we went to one of the Art Galleries, unfortunately some areas were closed of for some reason, perhaps they were changing the displays. :dunno:

They display all types of artwork, from Monet, Lowry to modern day and local artists.

I loved this Quilt made by Southampton residents during the Pandemic.
            Such a lovely idea.

We then enjoyed lunch overlooking the water, we spotted a cruise liner being prepared to set sail 20221109_123140.jpg 20221109_123207.jpg

We finished our day with a wander around , soaking up the bustling atmosphere in the huge shopping complex.

This was our only challenge of the day, our own lane!

A wonderful outing Upsy. Seems like you were the only folk in the Gallery. A lovely day out

I've only just seen your lovely photos @Upsydaisy, I don't usually look at this thread.
I love Salisbury, It's about the only place I'd choose to live if I had to leave here.

Thanks Vicky, it was a truly wonderful day. The gallery opens at 10 and we got there about 10 :10, so yes it was quiet, however in some of the side halls they had educational activities going on with school groups. :)

Cleared out the chillies in the conservatory and cleaned the window frames and floor. While i had the mop out i cleaned the downstairs toilet floor.

Coloured the Child's hair and bathroom sink bright pink. My hands will be the topic of discussion next week in the office. Heroically resisted adding a pink tuft into my own hair, a spot of bright white grey in my parting could actually do with some cheerfulness... there's still some of the colourant left...

Every Christmas since they were born ( 2017) I have made a couple of Christmas decorations for our two great nephews.
Today I finished off 2 Dangly Snowballs.

Bought our train tickets for our Christmas up in London, also bought a rail card....so the saving of buying an early ticket + the railcard reductions was brilliant.:dbgrtmb:
