A weekend of kindness and goodwill in this rather upsetting world. :)

We had to physically go to town so that I could cash my tax refund in a real bank with people. We joined the queue and after a while a young assistant asked us what services we were after as most can be done in the hall of mind blowing machinery. I explained that I wanted to cash a cheque of tax refund but also wanted to keep the letter whole as it was from Her Majesty and it arrived a day after her death so I really wanted to keep it and not just feed it into a machine to be swallowed up.

The queue, mostly of foreign looking people managing their business requirements and elderly Ladies, were listened in to my explanation and we all got just a bit emotional. There will be no more letters from Her Majesty.

The cashing in got sorted out and off we went to explore a jam packed town full of Christmas market stalls. Dutch Flowers stall had some splendid Opuntias and Araucarias I heroically resisted, and we got the essential Christmas presents (Kenyan tea for Dad as he spent some years in there, a sailing magazine for Sis and coloured tapioca balls for the niece's family for fancy bubble tea (later on I read the warnings on the pack on what the various E-numbers may cause)) and a book from charity shop for £1. The Thursday Murder Club - Wikipedia

Today I woke up at 7am and started the book, I finished it around 2pm with a mild disruption of lunch but there are very few things that can come between a woman and her book. Highly recommended, a warm and kind book that instead of making me laugh as it said on the cover, made me cry a bit.

On our way home in the metro station, a child interrupted my daughter buying our tickets and gave her his day ticket he didn't need any more.

We lingered a while at home station to offer it on but in the end just left it wedged near the ticket machines for a sharp eyed person to spot and to profit from the kindness of the child. :)

Bought this just because the name implied quality not because the description says, "full bodied" or perhaps due to both! @shiney :heehee:

                      Thanks Vicky and @Selleri .

The problem is I forget what I've done in past years. I started off making different things for both of them but now I make the same.....makes it a lot easier.
I have already found a couple of patterns for next year.:dbgrtmb:

Started hand delivering my local Christmas cards this afternoon. Really local first then I went into Southampton and delivered some more.

I so begrudge paying for postage if I really don't have to.

I only got some fillings replaced in a couple of my molars. And had some people by a few minutes ago to pick up a couple of walkers. I'm lending them for the wife to use after her hip surgery. They seem like really nice people. :)

@Upsydaisy I have my cards done and in piles on the front table with stickies reminding me what dates to mail them. I am very anxious to keep the postal services in business because if they shut down the courier services certainly won't have rates as low as the posties and for the amount of mail I send out, I'd like to keep a simple stamp as an economical option.

I have discovered some fun little projects to sew and am goofing around with those templates. Basically procrastinating doing anything serious. Outdoors is not an option. High winds and graupel.
