Does anyone know what time the football starts.
Watching BBC1 and all they have done for the last 35 minutes is talk and speculate.
Boring bunch of idiots reminiscing about nothing of any real interest.

Watched the second half of the Spain v Japan game. Still can't understand how VAR reversed the assistant ref's decision.

Going by the image below, I would say the ball is clearly out, which I would say most people watching would agree. How VAR overruled the decision is baffling, even more so as they have access to far more camera angles than the broadcasters.

On a positive note, the match officials for the Germany v Costa Rica match were all female. Well done FIFA :blue thumb:

I saw the last 20 min of Morocco v Canada and the the commentary seemed very biased towards Morocco for some reason.
They only won 2 1 but going by how they were talking it had been a walk over.

They were explaining the Japanese goal this morning. As long as any part of the ball is overlapping the line (it does not have to be touching the line) the ball is still in play. The VAR looks right along the line and the ball was still overlapping the line when it was kicked back so the VAR was correct and the goal was good.

So, FIFA has named an all-woman referee team for a Man's World cup match.

That means they will be bringing up penalties that happened 2 games ago.

On match of the day they showed a camera angle directly over the line, it showed a tiny fraction of the ball was still touching the line, hence not out of play.

I stopped watching both games last night as they were very boring. The edited highlights later on Match of the Day was much better. Editing out all the back passes boils down to 12 minutes of good action out of the 90.

Pleased to see Germany exit again and shocked by how bad Denmark Belgium were, they were/are ranked second in the world.

Belgium were ranked second in the world prior to the world cup, another nation that high hopes and are now out.
